Latest update at 2:45 was that the fire lines are holding and winds are not as big of problem as expected. Brian

I believe it is the Bootleg Lake Rd that is just below forestdale. Its about nine miles from Show Low

All I know is, if I get evacuated, there's going to be a lot of fish that are going to be in trouble for a few days. Brian

I understand it was windy, but holy smokes at how fast it blew it up. Is that because they back burn so much? I'm not sure crews were even on it yet. Right at cedar canyon bridge there was a WMAT G&F and that was the only official vehicle we saw all the way up to Show Low. It is just so thick and dry that it had a straight easy run up the steep ridge. By the time we got to Lakeside you could see it was a rolling from the smoke. Brian

On my way home from scouting at 1130 am saw the first little chimney of smoke from it. 10min later drive right by it and the flames were already headed up to the top of the ridge. It was running fast. Brian

I've called a mess of bobcats in. I won't stay on stand longer than thirty minutes. Had them come in as fast as 20 sec and as long as 18min. Majority in the 8 min range. Called in one lion, only had a shotgun when gun wasn't legal for lion. He came in at 15 min mark. I've never called for lion so I can't help any there. This just what I do and works for me. Brian
