Im partial to 700's but thats me. I also like 30cal and 7mm, I shoot a 30 for the wind drift. I've never heard some one say "wow that deer is too dead". I have heard people say that there is too much damaged meat, but that can be controlled with bullet choice. One rifle i would want to check out is the sako a7. Garanteed 5 shot 1inch groups at 100 yards. The larger calbers have a 24 3/8 tube and the smaller have 22 7/16. I looked at prices on line and think they were like 6-700 or less im not sure. http://www.sakoa7.net

looks like your buck stays in the same spot in the sping/summer growing months as he does in the rut. Is this the case? My big regulars disapear in the rut and return for gowing their antlers.

Thanks for the pix. I just check my cams for the second time this year. Looks like the big one from last year made it. (he already has eye guards and startin his g2's) most others are in the 1-2 inch range, a few with 4 inches. The big guy close to ears wide the end of last week.

Ive had 2 etrax and used alot of other peoples too. THey are easy to use and simple. I recently got a rino and the functions and menu are set up the same so the swith was easy. The first etrax i ever got still works great. Its probably close to 10 years old. I got it at the popular on mckellips way before they closed.

I took it. I was always told to do good in school and get my work done early so i could go hunting. I never missed a day of hunting. I think it would benifit some kids though. I almost laughed outlout about the over the counter javy tags too. "Hey we made buckets o money on the OTC elk lets do it for pigs were they dont live too" It might be alright though. Pig camp is always fun with abunch of guys chasin around deer and pigs with bows and quail with scatter guns. Your the lucky one if you dont have to gut a pig. I have always liked having hunts for different species at the same time as long as you can have a tag for both, and not 700 tags a species. HINT: WT and MD seasons at the same time is a zoo. Havin an archery turkey and a archery bear tag in your pocket hile your archery deer hunting sounds pretty good.

What the heck are they talking about?
youngbuck replied to cohntr6's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I think its a bad idea. The 8 hour course is very imformative. I know that some people who take the course and ccw license need more than the required 8 hrs. The 2nd ammendment is a right to bear arms but I understand it is a privledge and responsibility to do so concealed in public. I would like to see something that would allow carry on college campus though. Maybe an additional course and more training or something along those lines. The last thing we need is more people carying concealed who dont know what they are doing. They would end up hurting them selves and others. I can see it now. "Hey man i dont gotta get me a gun licence no more so im gunna carry my pistol in my sweatpants pocket with me all the time" -
My dad put some jimmy jammers in his truck; 04 silverado, ans no one has tried breaking in yet. He also put the little stickers right there on the windows so they could see it. I have a 1990 chevy that was broken into w/ a large screw driver to steal stereo equipment about 6 years ago.

I dont know about the verde but Justin's dad caught a flat head that maxed out his 50lb scale on a crankbait at carlos about 2 weeks ago

Its not much help unless you are gonna shoot 2 loads, but the 58 gr vmax shoot great out of my 243. That combo is on of the best shooting centerfire rifles I have. Before I started hand loading the 100 gr factory corelokt worked on everything i ever shot with it, including a cow elk. I know they make bullets that fly better but i would be worried about alot of wind drift

I have a golden retriever thats 15 years old. We were givin him dogfood with glucosamine for a few years when we noticed his hips botherin him. The past year and a half or so we have been givin him Rimadyl. We never use the full dosage only 1/2 a pill every day to every third day. Works pretty good for him. His eyes and ears have gone before his hips. He snuck up on a thirst buster cup in the driveway the other day. He thought he was gonna get him a rabbit.

I started with one wildview a few years ago. Now i have 3 cheap wild views. One 4mp wildview and a predasesor to the covert I. If i had the extra money layin around id think about the covert II. Ive been one of the lucky ones and never had a camera stolen. I know alot of buddies that have though. If you are starting out. I suggest the wildviews.

I've always wanted to do a 6.5stw or 270stw ar maybe a 270RUM. Then I dont wanna mess with the whole wildcat deal either. I never understood why winchester made their quarterbore a supershort instead of a regular WSM. Im even one of a few that likes the wssm cartridge. 264's are one heck of a cartridge. I know a guy on here that has one.

When I was younger I made a sign that said "hunter on stand". I used it one weekend archery hunting when I was on a tank that was on a 2 tracker road that went in between two more traveled roads. I took the sign down when I wasnt there. I was dropped off at the tank and only used it so I wouldnt get guys walking the tank looking for tracks. I knew guys were gonna drive by and some still walk around it. I was trying to just let people know some one was on the tank. The sign was as close to the water as it could be while still on the two tracker. I feel pretty bad when I walk up on a water hole underneath a guy in a treestand. The problem is when people abuse it, like having their sign up to "claim" his territory. Its wong to have a sign up when you aren't there. My sign worked, people drove by, but nobody with a dog came walkin around the tank or anything. My golden rule applies to all situations: Don't be a "Dipstick"

Lookin for a Winchester model 94 chanbered in 357 magnum in a trapper or ranger compact model. I would prefer one without th crossbolt safety. Ive looked a gunbroker but not too mnay available. Id also consider a marlin or rossi but really want that 16" barrel in the winchester

What is the Ideal Arrow and Broadhead Choice for Elk?
youngbuck replied to mulie hunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I use axis 340's w/ a 100gr montec. My bull was quartering away pretty hard @ 63 yards. The arrow entered behind the last rib, and the broadhead just barely broke the skin on the opposite shoulder. Good tough heavy arrow and a tough sharp broadhead is what i would suggest. -
Man with all these stud lope pictures im startin to get all heartbrogen again, 13 apps and no tags yet
