youngbuck replied to couesarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Hammy i want your shoes so bad Merrel quit making those and Ive worn out my 2 pairs I bought when they discountinued them. I go socks or safari sneakers. Im gonna make some that are better though. Im gonna atach some fake fur to the bottom of some mocossans and see how they work. -
I find it interesting that people make that statement. Do you actually think criminals take the law into consideration? I'm for it. However, I do think people should pass an exam before they can breed. I know they dont follow the law. Say some one is commiting a crime, having a gun on them turns it into a felony (regardless of concealed or not). If the law, as it is now, adds charges to criminals comiting crimes im all for keeping it in effect. Add the charge of illegaly concealing a weapon, turn him into a three time looser. Im not worried about guys who grew up around fire arms. Im worried about Jo Shmo who got his dad's pistol when he passed away and decides it would be a good idea to keep it in his britches all the time. This law will increase the number of ignorant people concealing weapons. Im usually against anything that limits our freedoms, but not everyone who owns guns knows how to use them profeciently. The legal aspect of the class is very imformative but I coulda have passed the shooting part with spit wads. How would you feel if some ignorant person who has never shot a pistol decides to defend his life and accidently kills an innocent bystandard, perhaps someone you care about?

Huskemaw 5-20 LR Rifle Scope
youngbuck replied to Bucks_N_Yotes's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Dennis, Rod and I have used his Lecia to range over 1300 yards (a single tree) on several occasions. The method for LR hunting that you write about is the preferred method for hunting INHO. That being said, we had the "dial of death" on our M24's with Leupy MkIV. The scope was excellent and I liked the range dial it (yards and not MOA). It was a third dial on the scope calibrated specifically for the M118LR. That is one bullet at one speed PERIOD otherwise the dial was useless. If you plan to hunt with one bullet, one powder, primer, brass, etc. etc. then by all means the Husk system is for you. And dont forget one elevation, My next rig will wear a nightforse NXS with all MOA adjustments, for the elevation. I will most likely always shoot the same load but it will be my go to gun for any hunt from sea level to dall sheep perhaps, who knows I might win the lottery Right now I shoot the swaro TDS reticle and it works great for shots less than 800yds because I have put in the time and know how it shoots, hopefully the 338edge w/ the nightforce will be a little more versitile for me. -
Way to go RR, I wondered how many people would see those new late october hunts, Hope it was like last year and you can catch the tail end of the rut.

Kodiak precision is in NE mesa http://www.kodiakprecision.com/ -
I agree with Bill about the spliting. I know on my euro deer and boiled skills I always super glue the delicate parts like teeth to hold it together.

If you ever get a chance to read a Mexican newpaper do it. The US doesnt hardly even mention what its like. It is not too uncommon when the new police chief gets brutaly murdered or publicly executed in a town. The bottom line for all the violence is that money talks, and this is drug money thats doin the talkin.

You have gotten some good advice. I started for me when i was 16, i went a few times w/ my dad before then. I learned the hard way, trial and error. Tonto shaved years off the learning curve. It took me awhile to notice the things that mattered. Ive never owned an eletronic caller. Everytime i get money saved up for a fox pro i need somethin more important. I would love to have a fox pro scorpion. I use dan thompson calls mostly, they work good for me. Patience is a virtue (that i rarely have). Be persistant, dont give up. If you are getting frustrated the next dog you call in will make you forget all the bad days.

You shouldn't have let him know he got you Bill. Now his head will only get bigger. His 1 mile kill shots will soon be 2, or perhaps 3 miles. Then he will tell us stories about how he went Chuck Norris on a mountain lion, blindfolded, how he uses his hands, not rod and tackle, to catch his fish, and how he was raised by a pack of jaguars in southern Arizona as a child. It wont be long.....
