55$ aint bad for hunting ammo. My ammo, if I'd buy it from the store, would cost around $70/20rds. Id pay that too, a long as it was lead. Lead works, and works well. I would be a pain in the arse for me, others and mostly ammo manufacures if klead was banned. There would need to be a lot of R&D if lead was banned. What are the guys gonna do who dont like hypermagnums? If lead is banned Im sure something else will kill condors too...

I cant see this happening anytime soon, but Ive been wrong before. I dont see how people are concerned with lead poisoning from hunting. How many ounces of lead are put into the field each year by rifle hunters? Now how about target shooting, range or clays or what ever besides hunting? Who knows what will happen. I cant imagine the Fed spending money for non lead ammo for practice and battle. Well actually they could easily just spend away some more of our money.

Kinda depends on what you are hunting and how far you need it to work. I like factory rem corelokts for close stuff. They are cheap and work well. Far stuff I like accubonds in the .30 cal. I like heavy bullets because they buck the wind. Some guys like lighter bullets. I like a bonded bullet for shooting super fast because it wont vaporize meat. Federal loads all type of bullets. The closer you are to your target the less important bullet choice is, I think, for big game anyways.

Hows your archery hunt going ?
youngbuck replied to Harleyfx69's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I feel for ya. I spent 4 days in a bling last weekend and had one doe come in, hopefully my luck will change. I only need the buck I'm after to come in once when i'm there, i hope. -
I've comepared them to leica geovids and vortex razors. They are dedinately in the same leauge opticaly as the nicer glass. People who have looked through them don't believe how much they cost. I always thought nikon monarchs and vortex razors were great for the money. The zens are by far the best bang for the buck, if they hold up. Ill definately abuse/use them. They seem to be built just fine, time will tell. If the geos weren't range finders they would be my primary small pair. I have an old pair of zeiss classics ill comepare them to when i get around to getting them fixed.

I like 94s a lot now. I hated em as a kid, he safety of squeezin the handle bugged me. I bought my dad a trapper in. 357 and he shot a javelina this past year with it. 94 yards and prone using fiber optic bead and peep. Its a neat gun. It fits completely in my eberlestock scabard. Makes a great haul any where gun. I want a trapper with a red dot. I think it would work real slick but wouldn't quite look right. -
I have a pair. They are great optics. They are as good as they say they are. I you are ever in the valley ou are more than welcome to look throih mine. I bouht them for a back up pair and i like them a lot.

I have some rain suede stuff. I really like it on warmer rainy bow hunts. It breathes well and is really quiet. My sister wore it on a 14 day colorado back country hiking trip. THey never were below 10k I think. Any ways she was the only one who's rain gear held up and kept her dry. I havent looked at what they have now, my stuff is probably 5 years old but still looks new. Even after Ive used the heck outa it.

I got into em a little bit this past weekend. The worst I ever had was down south last year, they got me good.

If somebody only buys the cams I'd be interested in the boxes

Dont beat yourself up if things dont go right. Growin up I always heard all these great stories about all these great shots. 5 or 6 years ago my sister missed a bedded coues buck a long ways off. She can shoot too. She got so upset with herself, she thought she let us down. I told her that just because we never talk about the screw ups and misses donesnt mean they don't happen. She just grew up thinking missing or runnin your stuff off rarely happens. It does happen, even if we dont talk about it. Stay after it, it will happen eventually.

They work real well for an easy supper around a fire like that too. Just take em outa the ice chest and lay em on a bed of coals and put some more on top, works good. I agree with Lark on the neck meat, I make chilli with it. Its best with small cubes of neck meat and ground bulk italian sausage.

Interesting article. He has some good point about learning how to be profecient without relying on the biggest, fastest, hyper accurate rifles. I dont like muzzle blast at all, but I can't argue with distance and wind bucking abilities of a heavy bullet. I still like my hot rods, they have served me well. I always wondered if AZ has the highest per capita of big magnums; RUM, STW, Weatherby, various wild cats. I dont think he was concidering the AZ hunter who practices with his equipment and wants to take a coues across a windy canyon. I would have to agree with him for most of the US and rest of the world. If I lived back east, I wouldn't be haulin my RUM. I like my .243 too much. Thanks for sharing. With the title I though for sure it was going to be praising the 7mm-08.

If you have a buddy; guttin and splitting is is the quickest if your some what close to camp. I leave the hide on and take the hind end off as far back as possible (think long back straps). If im solo and some what close I quarter it up and pack it in my back pack. A whole coues buck quartered will fit in a good sized pack, mine is a gunslinger. If im real deep, I refuse to haul bones. I bone it out on the spot. I can fit 2 boned out coues in my pack. If its handy I hang a quarter in a tree and put my game bag or trash bag or t-shoot below it and cut/shave the met off the bone and let the entire piece fall intop the bag.

I use signs if I hunt water WHEN IM ON IT. Just to prevent some guy walkin up and feelin bad about it. Ive done it before when i dont see a guy in a tree, I feel prtty bad. I usually leave a waterbottle and a hat in my blind to to let people know some one has been using it. Thats a bad deal 3 days early.

Look into kenton industries too, they make turrys for many types of scopes an are very helpfull. Give them a call with any questions. They know their stuff.

Legally its first come first serve. I would never put a cam up where some one elses was, unless it was on water, in the middle of nowhere. I would never put a cam on some one elses salt , even it looked old and ran down. I just tell people to folow one simple rule to solve nearly all problems, "Dont be a dumb a**!" Not necesarily directed toward you but perhaps the person who added a camera. I cant really tell from the little bit of story but its still a good rule to follow no matter what.

Pm sent on cast iron stuff, dutch oven and griddle, and grinder

Is there a legal description for "abandoned"? If we could make the item not "abandoned" they couldn't remove it. What if cameras had a not sayin "this is not abandoned property". It seems like FS remove things when they are abonded and stealing cameras is not illegal because they are abandoned property. It seems to me that the easiest way to solve it, is to show the items are not abonded, but I dont know the legal description of the word.

I prefer double reeds and a grunt tube, but also use a small blue reed one from primos. My dad uses really old reed call that has a 1" diameter tube about 6" long. It sounds like a little punk bull.
