Tikka 7-08 stainless and fluted (new) $650

    FYI, if it's fluted it's a superlite. If it's a superlight it has a 22 1/2" tube ... Great price. Great rifle. I have 2.
  2. I FL everything that I hunt with and set my dies up for minimal shoulder working. If you've ever tried to kill something and couldn't chamber because of the shoulder not being slightly bumped back......

    Remington 700 custom 6.5-06

This is a relist from last year - Remington 700 blueprinted action, old style Remington trigger tuned to 2.5 pounds (great trigger), 24" Brux # 3 barrel twisted 1:8. Stock is 13 1/2" LOP and is a lightweight MPI stock. Weighs approximately 6 3/4 pounds as you see it in photos. Rifle balances well and shoulders great. Throat and box is factory. Plenty of room to chase lands. I sent the barreled action to Eddie Fosnaugh last year along with the stock to work his magic. He did his world famous bedding job along with his world famous ceracote and stock painting. Ceracote is graphite black. Stock is patriot brown with black speckles. Rifle after painting has a textured feel. A few minor scuffs on the stock, bolt from working it, and some very light finish specs on the end of barrel are the only imperfections I can find, neither can be captured in photos. Included Redding 2 piece die set, Talley 1" lows, and 50 brand new .25-06 Winchester brass (10 or so already necked up). No neck turning required. Run .25-06 brass through the 6,5-06 FL die set and presto... $1,400 for entire package - A thrown together load with no workup shot well under MOA at 350 yards last weekend.

No such thing in 36A, relatively speaking...grin....

    36A Nov 4th-10th

Lots of deer in 36A. As others have mentioned its the age class.... There is country you can hunt that hold coues that you can get away from the roads/folks, but it takes effort as well as creativity.... Generally speaking any elevation above 3,000 -, 3,200 in that unit will hold coues. This is likely true for about any southern unit but in some units it is much lower...
  11. With that case and those BC's, I wouldn't worry much about obtaining maximum velocities. I'd run the bullet that is most accurate in your rifle with your powder of choice....

This thread is really, really confusing.... Is the rifle sold or not? You "really" need to get it sold and have an I'll take it?

    6.5 build question

Don't get the recommendation for a fire breather intended for extra long range hunting and justifying it because of extended barrel life since the shooter only intends to shoots very, very little. A cartridge with long range capability doesn't make up for a lack of practice. If you're gonna shoot long ranges proficiently, especially in a hunting situation, you gotta burn primers. I just don't get the mindset. I'd build a SAUM at the top end and run 130's at 3200. They don't lose hardly anything to the 140's until waaay out there, low recoil, good barrel life, etc. Win, win, win...
