To help you a bit here's some more data. My wife shoots a 7-08 for everything. It's a very moderate load. A 140 E-tip at 2,680 MV. But it's very accurate. She's taken three cow elk at distances between 200-375 yards if I recall correctly. Two dead on spot, one went 40 yards with a blind man blood trail. All exits. All lung shots with a bit of front shoulder as well....

In your opinion, what is it that makes them better? I'm a long time Barnes user myself, but I've thought about branching out. I like a few things: bit better BC, better wound channels especially at moderate impact velocities (1900-2300), critters seem to simply bleed better (wound channel mentioned) but the biggest thing is that critters seem to not go far after the shot... I've had pig and deer rodeos with lung shot critters and TTSX and no blood sign to follow. Found them all but gets you thinking. Most notably a pig at 100 yards with an 80 TTSX from a .243 at 3400+. Bullets are weird, I've got good buds who swear by TTSX but I run from them. I will say to start at minimum working up. Pressure can come a bit early and sudden... I gotta caveat this with IMO so folks don't get mad...grin...

The E-Tips are the best copper bullet going IME. Small to big, pigs to elk Ali has slayed them all. 100 percent exits, great wound cavity, critters dead very fast..... Shot TSX and TTSX for a long while, these are better....

About as narrow minded and moronic as your post about the spotters. I assume you have evidence that suggests your "method" of doing nothing is just as good, doesn't shorten barrel life, or decrease accuracy? Probably not, probably just more narrow minded thinking from someone who doesn't realize how little he actually knows. Take a breather bud.... Breaking in a barrel is a waste of time and components unless your barrel is bad from the start.

I mostly just come on here to read and rarely post, but comments like this drive me nuts. I got the impression he was looking for fact based comparisons and examples from first hand experience rather than stupid closed minded opinions presented as fact. So I guess we can assume that you have had "them all" out in the field and done a side by side comparison since the Meopta S2 clearly "smokes them all". If so, let's hear it? A small portion is based upon how our eyes react with coatings, etc. and ergonomics/specs of said gear. The poster wanted feedback from experienced folks about spotting scope strategy. I stare into glass a lot and have used just about all of them. And yes, the Meopta S2 and big Swaros smoke them all from a performance, price point, warranty, and ergonomics perspective. If going less than 80-82mm, the Swaro rules. I could care less what the OP does. You could have asked for more information about my post before acting like a woman and I'd have been happy to give it. I'm going to guess you are a proud Vortex user? Laughing....

And the Meopta S2 smokes them all and is on par,if not better than, the 80mm+ Swaro HD's...

I just shoot mine.... Don't overthink it..

I always give the Smith a dummy round taking into account magazine constraints and a bit of flexibility to shoot other bullets if the want or need arises... I'd have to go look at old notes but a factory 700 action/mag is perfect for the .22-250 Ackley....
