Just need to add a price bud...

Bob,I've got no dog in the fight but you sound like an anklebiter lap dog trying to get in the big yard. I'd stick to a football argument....
-
Good guy to deal with here folks...

On top of the world at 5700 feet!

About as good as it gets.. -
Sorry OP for the hijack. It was not my intent but when the ankle biters are yapping. I'll not post again. Mogollan Man, I'd just simply suggest less Outdoor Life magazine and the actual purchase of a spotting scope so then you can actually partake in a pertinent thread...
-
I don't open my yap unless I speak from experience friend especially on topics I can contribute too based on experience. This isn't certainly one of them. You should heed the same especially since you don't even own a spotter. Have fun...

New barrel breakin sequence, lets hear yours......
Big or Bust replied to Lazy-H98's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
About as narrow minded and moronic as your post about the spotters. I assume you have evidence that suggests your "method" of doing nothing is just as good, doesn't shorten barrel life, or decrease accuracy? Probably not, probably just more narrow minded thinking from someone who doesn't realize how little he actually knows. Take a breather bud.... Breaking in a barrel is a waste of time and components unless your barrel is bad from the start. -
I mostly just come on here to read and rarely post, but comments like this drive me nuts. I got the impression he was looking for fact based comparisons and examples from first hand experience rather than stupid closed minded opinions presented as fact. So I guess we can assume that you have had "them all" out in the field and done a side by side comparison since the Meopta S2 clearly "smokes them all". If so, let's hear it? If not you might just give your your reasons for your spotter of choice rather than make broad arrogant statements that make you look foolish.Laughing. I'd just keep reading then. My opinion is not close minded nor arrogant but founded on hundreds and hundreds of hours a year doing nothing but staring into glass. And I'm fortunate to be able to. I'm not a brand ambassador whatsoever, it's all performance based. All of it. I'd love to hear your experiences with said glass... Laughing.. 90% of the optics game isn't opinion. A small portion is based upon how our eyes react with coatings, etc. and ergonomics/specs of said gear. The poster wanted feedback from experienced folks about spotting scope strategy. I stare into glass a lot and have used just about all of them. And yes, the Meopta S2 and big Swaros smoke them all from a performance, price point, warranty, and ergonomics perspective. If going less than 80-82mm, the Swaro rules. I could care less what the OP does. You could have asked for more information about my post before acting like a woman and I'd have been happy to give it. I'm going to guess you are a proud Vortex user? Laughing....

And the Meopta S2 smokes them all and is on par,if not better than, the 80mm+ Swaro HD's...

New barrel breakin sequence, lets hear yours......
Big or Bust replied to Lazy-H98's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I just shoot mine.... Don't overthink it.. -
I always give the Smith a dummy round taking into account magazine constraints and a bit of flexibility to shoot other bullets if the want or need arises... I'd have to go look at old notes but a factory 700 action/mag is perfect for the .22-250 Ackley....
-
Mine was a faux Remington 700 Ti. 22" 1-8" Pac-Nor, mountain rifle contour dupe. It was a backpack rifle. I throated it for 80 Berger's to kiss. I was running 80 Berger's at 3,250 from the 22"... Best powders were in the RL-19 or so burn range.. Killed coyotes forming brass, killed all with formed... Killed my best coues buck at about 500 yards with said load. Dead on feet. Great cartridge, fun to shoot, great bullet choices...
-
I ran a .22-250 Ackley for a good while. I'd endorse what the guys above said, anything more than 80's I'd want a skootch more twist than 8".... Lots of good powders these days and Lapua brass... Really fun cartridge that is basically a .243 twisted fast with heavies...
-
Super job.... Great accomplishment...
-
I did Casey.... The mere words Super Bowl set me off, especially after that article.... Burn them and get married....grin...

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/01/22/nfl-rejects-veterans-groups-ad-urging-people-to-stand-for-anthem.html Not sure how any American can even watch the NFL anymore let alone how they justify it to themselves. It's sickening what the NFL has allowed to happen. They can all kiss my #&$... Hope he gets rid of them by burning them grin...

Nosler LRAB Updated BCs
Big or Bust replied to hunthard's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'd defer to Bryan Litz regardless what Nosler says... -
Mule deer... During the rut deer change their pattern somewhat. Doe herds are disrupted as they are hanging with bucks, etc.
-
I honestly think critters are harder to call these days with an e-caller... I've been hunting coyotes since Burnham Brothers were the best gig in town... Generationa of coyotes educated to Lightning jack...
-
It's been a mid day feed pattern for all critters for 2-3 weeks from what I've seen and trending to midday and evenings better than mornings...
-
I've seen the exact opposite in southern AZ... I'm seeing more pigs than ever in the usual spots and pigs in spots I've seen few... They all over...
