Good deal...

Nice Lance.... Thought those were preorder only but looks like you have a contact...grin....
-
What's the fun of that? Grin.... That 147 ELDM is the huckleberry...
-
I'd run a 6.5 SAUM or more specifically a GAP 4 S between the two as I like headstamped brass....
-
Part of the issue is you are confusing the terms calibers and cartridges and using interchangibly and me no follow but I think I do... Energy doesn't mean a whole lot when killing, bullet construction and whether you get an exit is more determining than energy going out the back side.... I agree with you, bullets matter much more than the cartridge and in today's golden age of rifles, bullets, and rangefinders, most cartridges are more similar than different....

Say what?

Check out Whittaker's Guns.... Great folks and lowest prices you'll find.

Anyone else have "cheap" rifles that shoot stupid accurate?
Big or Bust replied to lionhunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Exactly.... 100 yard groups tell very little about the rifle. Shoot some groups at 400-500 yards and then the rifle will talk... I haven't shot a 100 yard group in over 10 years I bet... -
Shoot me a PM...

4-5 liters a day if medium to high activity. 2-3 if low. I half died from dehydration twice this past year and it forced me to change. BP off 75/50 and talking stupid. Not fun.

SFP issues. Meaning their holdovers and holdoffs are not accurate except @ 1000 yards and max magnification. Should still hold true MOA clicks though, and tracking.....and their reputation is not stellar in this area.Yet another reason I run all FFP scopes. Accurate and consistent at 100, 347, 611 & 1000. Correct at 3x, 5x, 7.2x, 14.7x, 21.1x, or 25x. No subtension issues. I had a hunch when reticles were mentioned and when the OP said what he said. Leupold would never talk about their own scopes RTZ, tracking, etc. They do not want to have that conversation and they would then have to admit their scopes from cheap to expensive all mostly have the same crappy internals that wont track. Of course a SFP scope will have issues if someone has no idea how to use it... All my scopes are FFP as well for the reasons Lance described above...

Lex builds a good rifle as does Melvin, as long as Melvin builds it and nor the help he's been going through for a few years now.... The Barret Fieldcraft will probably retire Melvin in a few years unfortunately....

Like to hear details on your ultralight .300 too. Bit sporty I imagine...grin.

No offense intended. I'm typing and driving... (Shhhh).... Where on their website does the above come from? Can you link? That is hysterical and mind blowing actually. I don't even know what they are trying to say. Our scopes track at long range but not short ranges? Our reticle subtentions aren't made for a tall box test? No sense made...
-
Laughing. I'm not trying to be rude but I don't need to read their literature if that's what Leupold is claiming.... I suspect Leupold never says what you are claiming. It'd be bye bye for them. I have no time to actually look. If they do say it, that would be great stuff, a company admitting their scopes are POS's and don't track. Guys, I could literally care less what you use. I'm not trying to tell anyone anything. I you dial, check your stuff and shoot your stuff often. It will be eye opening... Happy tag season...
-
Do you even know you are saying here? They are actually admitting their scopes don't do what I warned of earlier.... Did a Leupold rep actually tell you this?
-
If they work for you keep them.... Don't try a tall box test though....
-
I have.... First two and last two dialed about .32 MOA per click and had a RTZ about an inch off on both side of zero...
-
Of course or I wouldn't opine about them..
-
Nightforce SHV or SWFA are my two current favorites... The Bushnell LRHS is another one for under a grand with a proven track record that does all three... All the rest are over a grand....
-
Dialing, RTZ, correct adjustments and Leupold do not mix together at all....
-
Great piece of gear.... I overload mine constantly....grin...

Where are you located sir?
