Looks great I need to try another Dec. trip up there. The last time we tried it we almost made it to Sulfide Del Rey in 2wd but some guy in a suburban had stopped on a hill to look at deer tracks and with 3 to 4 inches of ice on the road that is were he sat. And that is were we sat behind him!! Even with 4wd it took a lot of shoveling dirt to get turned around. Thanks for the pics Amanda

BowNut replied to justinspe25's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer

Hi Mike thank you for the question on the application of water to your game meat. i am looking forward to, and will answer your question in great detail. unfortunately, i may not be able to respond until around mid december after the end of the last elk hunt. we are currently experiencing an extremely high number of elk coming in for processing. if i find a small window between now and mid december, i will answer your question. please check back, as i intend to comment on meat processing as a whole in hopes that we can begin to change the manner in which game is cared for. thanks again larry Good answer!! Is this guy a politician Never did answer the water question. Looks like you will know till mid December Mike:lol:

Come on now dave all 4 of your Hoyt's needed service and or support. There must have been somthing you liked about the first one to buy 3 more. Just pulling your chain! Thats not going to happen!! These kind of threads are great! It just goes to prove what a lot of us have said shoot the bow thats best for you. As we all can see from all the replies everyone is different! What ever brand you shoot just shoot them well boys. By the way my Chevy is much better than your Fords or Dodges!!!!LOL!!!!

Not sure I agree with this there is a difference between 2 bows from the same manufacture. And even more difference from one manufacture to another. For example Mathews Hoyt and Bowtech all have different cams not one pulls like the other. And a huge one for me is the grips and there feel. All of them are different. Does the manufacture still cover these bows under there warranty? I know bowtech keeps very good track as to the retailer that sells there bows with serial # and they ask for it when doing any warranty work at the retailer. jnobleinaz Please do not take any of this the wrong way. Just trying to help.

I shoot for Hoyt and would love to say go buy a Hoyt it's the best bow you will ever shoot. It will be. But what you need to do is go to a few shops and shoot as many brands as you can get your hands on and find what you like. Every bow company out there makes a great bow but you need to find the bow that is great for you. I shot Hoyt bows for three years before I started shooting for them. There bows are just what "I" liked and they felt better and shot better then the others for ME. You may not think so when you shoot one. But I doubt it LOL!! Just keep and open mind and don't let the guy at the shop sell you what he likes get the bow you like!!

Factory or Handloaded Ammo?
BowNut replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
All hand loads for me to. Remington 721 loves IMR 4350 and 140gr Accubonds. Also 130gr Ballistic tips shoot well with 4350. And my sons 243 shoots 100gr Sierra's very well. I just enjoy sitting in my room and loading hand loads to get my old "semi" factory rifle to drive tacks and lay the smack down on something.Witch laying the smack down seems to be the hard part lately! -
To bad you can't see it because you got moves that Micheal Jackson would be impressed with!!!!!!!!!!!!LMAO

What would you do? (hunting etiquette)
BowNut replied to PSEHunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Had the same thing this year. On the last day I was able to hunt with my son and dad this year in 34a we were sitting on a hill glassing some flats and some thick trees we had seen deer in opening morning. We (my son and myself) spotted a guy working his way across the flats through the trees. A few min. later 2 guys come around the hill in front of my dad about 20 yards to our left.I could not see them but I could here them talking. My dad stood up so they could see him and shuffled his feet so they would hear him. They turned around and looked at him. One guy asked the other what they were going to do then called the buddy walking through the tree on the radio and then plopped there butts down 40yards in front of my dad! Thats when it got good! There was only about 45 min. of light left. My dad stands up puts on his pack and grabbed his gun. I started to gather my stuff thinking the hunt was over. My dad tosses me his butt pad and said I am going hunting down there. He walks down the hill into the flats and wonders around in circles in front of them looking around with his binos like a birdwatcher looking back at them once in a while. Then once shooting light was almost gone he came back up the hill and gave them an butt chewing and then sat in front of them till they left. By then it was to dark to shoot. The bad part is this was Sunday and we had taken it easy all weekend because my dad had an appointment with the Doc on Tues. for a stress test because of pressure in his chest the week before! I just kept thinking don't have a heart attack stomping through the trees down there. I'm glad he did it our hunt was over for the night and so was there's. Looks like no more Oct. or Nov. hunts for me two years ago two guys shot at a spike deer 5 to 10 yards behind us while glassing on the same hill! -
Mark they only contact you if you put in plenty early. Not sure what the date was for this hunt but it is in the regs. I'm kinda glad there is no internet applications. I agree it is much easier but I think it gives us a little better chance of being draw(very little) because it is very easy to apply on line. Also I think the internet made it to easy for the Non hunters to apply for tags that will never be used and they will not be charged up front for the tag. Is Harry going to Colorado with ya? Looks like HC beat me to the first part!

P.S. sorry for hijacking the thread, that wasn't my intention. OOPS! Didn't think about that sorry guys!
