I think I saw one with your mug on here some place. No luck on the hunt.I had seen some good ones while scouting and just could not locate them in the four days I hunted. I should have moved to a new spot but I just could not get myself to go anywhere else knowing what had been there. It looked like they were push kinda hard over the weekend when I was out of town but they are probably running all over now that the hunt is over.

Here are some pics from the first 3 days of my Oct. whitetail hunt. We were there for my sisters wedding then came home to finish the hunt with my sis and her new husband. We had a great time in San Diego and on the hunt.

I knew someone would say something about the signs I didn't even think about that sticker!LOL! But it was the only place I could get a picture before I left to come home and actually I was just turning around and just happened to hop out and snap a picture. Ya Chef I put a few miles and a lot of gas in the tank last week. Glad the gas prices dropped some.

I try to start glassing close then work my way out to further distances. I find a spot that I can glass as close to 360 degrees around me with as little movement as possible but still have cover behind me and shade to sit in. Then I pick apart every nook, cranny and tree. I like to look "small" As if I was looking for a shed or even a chipmunk. I have noticed that if you are looking small that big bedded deer just seems to jump out at you. I almost forgot I ALWAYS have something orange in the tree I'm under or on the rocks after having a spike run up behind me and my son (less then 20 yards) a few years ago someone started shooting at it!! Be safe and Good Luck this year guys.

I can't get the dang thing to play.!! -
Man you did not give anyone time to reply!!!!! Congrats on the new bow. Hope they don't do better in "09".
-
If you are looking for a new bow and do not mind waiting a few weeks I would wait. Bowtech just shipped there "09" bows and all the other manufactures will start to come out in the next few weeks. You never know they may release something you will like more. And then go to a shop and shoot them all that will tell you if they are worth it to you or not. I believe that most all are. Yes even a Mathews! Good Luck

I have a question for the guys who have hunted 22 in Oct. I have found bucks all over the unit. What I want to know is with 600+ tags were do most of the hunters hunt in this unit? I have not hunted it before but have done my homework in the unit now I just want to know were most of the traffic is during that hunt so I can stay away from most of it. I found some REALLY good bucks this weekend and I have a bad feeling it will be full of hunters during the hunt because it is fairly easy to access. I will miss the first three days of the hunt do to my sisters wedding so I will be hunting during the week so I hope that will help some.Any help you can give me will be great and very appreciated. Thanks

Lets see who you really agree with. http://abcnews.go.com/politics/MatchoMatic...page?id=5542139 Mcain for me. -
I drove up for the morning to check out a couple more areas, I will agree Mt Ord scares me, the thought of all the people on the mountain opening weekend. I drove through from Payson towards Doll Baby and south to Rye, kicked up a couple with a nice shooter buck. I haven't hunted that area before either. I haven't found where they water yet. Not sure if there are any small tanks scattered around. I did see lots of sign while I was hiking, it was pretty warm today. Any hints on the water situation would be helpful. Thanks, Jackmedic I went up and checked a few of the areas I have seen some decent buck. I did a lot of hiking (and it was HOT!) and can't seem to find any water in the areas I have seen them. They are in there so they have got to be getting water some place I just have not found it yet.I have found were there was water. But they are there so I'm not going to worry about it to much. Good Luck
