    HAM

Glad you posted this I was just thinking about getting a HAM license the other day.My dad is a HAM.(KC7NOJ) I don't think he has been on for a while. Since he moved to Strawberry he has not been as involved as much. I know he takes his handheld on hunt with him mostly just in case he has any trouble out in the field. You never know.

    Time for a new bow

Headache Could you be a little more specific on the problems with the high dollar Hoyts? IMO And its just that my opinion but I have not seen problems with Hoyt that could ever stack up to the pile of limbs that have been replaced on Bowtech and the PSE's of the past. And before I get blasted for the limb thing I know there are a ton of guys that have not had a problem with there bows I'm just saying if you look at the other sites like AT and others there just seems to be more of a problem with some companies more than others. Compared to the number of bows sold the number of bows with problems is small but anything can happen with any bow no mater who makes it. Coocoo, Hit the shops shoot them all and find what you like. There is not a bow company out there that makes a bad bow. But there are bow companies that make bows that you will not like. For what ever reason that's just the way it is. When you find the right one only you will know. Well we will know to because you will tell us. I have shot them all and they are all great bows but there is just somethings you will not like grip, shock speed or what ever it may be. P.S. Maybe you should ask the question what would be your 2nd choice if you could not shoot the bow you shoot. Mine would be Bowtech or Mathews

    Time for a new bow

Man I thought you were going to do better then that "but you need to keep the cams timed"! You did not even mention my name in your post! Your slacking bro! A lot of people don't realize that Mathews, Bowtech and I'm sure PSE also need there cams adjusted or timed. Even the single cam bows have timing marks for a set position were they perform the best.

    Time for a new bow

Wow you know how to get things started here! I shoot for Hoyt so I'm staying out a that.

    Time for a new bow

+1 You need to shoot all of them you can get your hands on. What one guy likes may not be what you like. Shoot them all then buy a Hoyt Alphamax or Katera!

    Savage Striker?

I had one in 308win with the laminated wood thumb hole stock. What a SHOOTER!! Wish I would have never traded it. 168gr Siera Match Kings were deadly on paper at 200 yards. But I did use a glove when I shot it. They are not bad if you just let the gun kick back and don't fight it.

    Windage issues

Not consciously. Would I need a sight with a level to prevent this? This is very frustrating I would defiantly look into a sight with a level. They are not cheep but a Spot Hogg is the way to go. IMO They have all the adjustment you need.I have had the same sight on about 4 bows they are almost bullet proof. Well BowNut proof and thats saying something!

Jim Don't forget your 3rd Axis. It will make a huge difference shooting up or down hill at that big buck!

    Windage issues

    Yes Sir.

    Windage issues

If your bow is tuned and you are sure there is no vane contact on the rest, cables or riser then as "J" said check your sight. Do you use a sight with a level? You need to be sure the sight is actually level. I use a small level on the sight window to be sure the sight is actually level when the bow is level. If your sight does not have adjustments like a Spothogg and others you can shim the sight on top or bottom to make it level. Hope you get her shooting strait Dallas

Advice on Unit 23 South Elk

Well said. +1 Good tags are few and far between and reguardless of what the quallity may or may not be, unless you know a unit well or plan on hiring a guide, I would stick with the high BIG Bull density units like 9, 10, 3A/3C, etc.... IMO. I agree with both of them. Mostly stick to a unit you know well and don't waste the points not that the point help any more then the draw-harvest numbers in the regs do.

  24. BowNut

    so mad!!!

Is that a 3'x3' target? And what the heck kinda sight do you have to get 30 to 160 yards? Thats a ton of pins! And what bow and fps are you shooting?

    Whats better!

You can find more info at starrflight.com. Not sure if you have yet or not but you need to go to there site and watch the videos. There videos and web site should help you out. You do not glue them at all the knock holds them on. On a pass thru you just pick them up and push them back on the arrow. You can also go to Archery Talk and get a ton of info on them.
