I usually have 4 in the mag and 5 or 6 on the shell holder on my stock. But if I empty the mag chances are I'm not going to the extras I'm going back to the range cuz something is wrong with me or the gun. -
That's some great bucks! And looks like an awesome time. I will be doing this next year if the tag gods are nice to me once again. Congrats!!

Ruff weekend turns out GREAT! First night (Thursday) Me and the wife get camp setup eat and head to bed early. Good thing because we were woken up about 1:00am by a truck coming by camp trying to wake the entire forest. I found the truck the next day off the road on its top and with the smell of beer and the empty 30 packs it was not hard to figure out why. Day 1 We hit the first spot I wanted to hunt but it had been a few years and everything had grown so thick it was hard to find a place to sit so I decide to move. We moved to another spot and headed down a ridge to glass thats when I saw the truck on it's top about 10 yards from my truck and no one else around. We did glass a small 2pt buck but I decided to pass. He was small and only about 100yards from the overturned truck and the Forest Service was there waiting on the sheriff to get there. So we headed back to camp. That afternoon I was talking to some friends and decided to break camp and move to a new location. We get to the new spot and drive back about 6 miles looking for a place to set camp and spot a good place to glass so I pull off the road and my wife opens the door and I can hear air coming out of one of my tires! There is a 2in rock stuck between the tread. So we put on the spare and make the decision to head back to the valley to get it replaced. Day 1 is a bust! Day 2 Day 2 me and my wife meet up with my brother-in-law at 4:30 am with his son who also has a tag. We hike in and glass a few spots but only find doe's. Later in the afternoon we are driving back further and it happens again! I hear the air coming out of my truck tire! There in no place to pull over so we change the tire in the road. So again we need to call it a day and head back for a new tire! Don't want to get a flat with the spare on the truck! We stop at a few spot on the way out but nothing is moving. Day 3 So on day 2 on my way home a buddy tells me I can take his Ranger. A lot less chance of getting a flat that way. So we get back to were we want to glass and sit there about 20 min and my wife snaps her fingers at us so we walk over and she has a family of coatimundi's up in a tree across the canyon. We watch them for a few min. then start glassing again. A few min. goes by and my wife is snapping here fingers again. This time she says it's a deer and it's a buck! We decide I will cross the canyon to get on the next ridge to try for a shot. I get to the other side and can not see the deer. They can but I can't! My brother-in-law heads over to show me gets there and nether of us can find it. My wife said she can no longer see it so we head back to the Rangers. We move a few hundred yards down the road and I see a point we can work out on and maybe spot him again. I get the 15's set up and in about 2 min. I spot the buck! He is bedded out in the sun and it looks like there is a neon light on him! I can't believe it. So we pick out a huge white rock on a ridge between us and the buck and I head over. After about 30 min I make it to the rock and range the deer he is still over 600 yards away. There is one more ridge between me and the buck so I head over. It took me at least 30min. and I get there and it's so thick I have trouble finding a place to sit for a shot. I spot the buck he is feeding broadside on the hill. I range him at 320 yards settle the cross hairs a little high on him and he turns and goes into the brush. I sit and glass for another 20 to 30 min and my wife and brother-in-law have not seen me for over an hour and have no idea were I'm at. Finally the buck steps out I range him at 330 yards hold on his back and I HAMMER THAT TRIGGER! I know I hammered it cuz I almost broke the safety! So I smack myself around a little take the safety off and squeeezzzze the trigger BOOM the buck jumps runs about 20 yards and hits the ground! Two flat tires lots of fuel and a great ending!! It was a heck of a team effort finding stalking and getting my buck out. I could not have and would not have wanted to do it with out the help of my wife brother-in-law and his son. It was an awesome hunt with tons of memories good and not so good.

I agree with this! I posted something like this a long time ago and it did not go over well. I don't think you would need to make it as hard as you posted. I spend a lot of time at the archery range and I can not believe how some guys are shooting the weekend before hunting season. I know if G&F just placed a paper plate at 40 yards and said put 4 out of 5 arrows in it before putting your app. in the box I would get a tag more often!
-
That's disgusting!

If there was any chance the first one was not making it I would not have shot the secound one! If I make what could have been a fatal shot and can't find it I would be done for the season that's my animal. Would not be a bad idea to reflect on what happen and fix it. Bad shots? Bad setup? Poor tracking? Just my 2 cents.

The material is a lot of it but it's more the process of how it's made and stretched that makes a string good or not so good.

Winners Choice well worth the little few extra dollars. IMO

I have always shoot with one eye closed. Can't seem to do it with both eyes open. I found the Double Vision Blocker on Archery Talk and it works very well. I can shoot with both eyes open and to me I feel my sight picture is clearer. I use is on my scope and on by bow sight.

Most years the end of the hunt is better. But i have seen the bulls shut down because of pressure also. If had limited time a 320 bulls that's were I would be!

Arrowed my first bird yesterday at 15 yards on a day trip. Had my wife with me she is becoming my good luck charm! Did not see much all day just a few doe's. About 5PM the thunder and lightning was just Nuts! Told the wife we need to get out and back to camp. Got about half packed up and about 8 birds come running after a HUGE sound of thunder. He slowed to almost a stop and I let him have it. Only went about 2 yards. Took some very quick pics in the pouring rain and headed home it was Great end to a Great day. Thanks to my wife for hanging with me all day and my buddies Doug and Robert for the invite to there camp and stands for the day.
