    Lost rights to possess firearms.....

last time I bought a muzzle loader they didn't require a backround check, just walked in grabbed it off the shelf and paid for it, so its not registered to anyone, so if he gets caught its all on him, in my opinion. I also had a friend loose his rights and they new he was an archery hunter and in his paperwork it was very specific that archery equipment was included with the firearms. just something to think about.

    Meat still edible?

So here is the story. My daughter shot her first deer, just a little guy, but first one just the same. I quarter it up and in the process I find a broad head shaft stuck in his back bone. all healed up, no blades or tip in it, next day i decide t take the meat off the bone and in one front shoulder I find a pocket of puse with the 3 blades and the tip of said broadhead. My question is the meat edible or do I need to be concernerd with posible blood poisioning from infection of the puse pocket? I cleaned the knives before proceeding, and disppsed of meat around said pocket, all other meat appeared to be healthy and in good condition. this was a small 1x2 mule deer probably shot in last archery season as it would have been to young to be legal last year.It did not appear to be ill at time of shot ie it was eating and very alert before being harvested. any comments would be appricated.

Congrats to this 10 Year Old

Probably counts as his ram, but now he gets to start working towards a rocky mtn bighorn and has plenty of time to build bonous points, where most of us will be lucky to get one tag or the other. I am very jealous. Great job young man!!!!!

    road hunters

We hunted unit 8 as well, didn't see the plane in question, we hunted up closer to white horse lake. I do believe radioing down from any kind of aircraft is illegal, pretty sure I read that in the regs, as for road hunters we might all consider the fact that some day we might not be able to get around as good as we once did, and consider would you give up going out into the woods if you could not be as mobile as you are now? we hunt a few spots that are less than 1/4 to 1/2 mile from magor dirt roads, we hardly ever run into other hunters while in the field and seen game 95% of the time all the while hearing road hunters driving Back and fourth, thier road hunting keeps most game held up just out of thier sight and right in our stomping grounds, so I say bring on the road hunters, learn to adapt and use it in your favor.

Closing units to December archery hunting

I believe they close them during the December hunt to prevent hunters from shooting spikes and younger bucks just to fill thier tags at the end of the year, thats why they are open again in January, Hunters are more likely to be more selective in January because they have all year to hunt for a larger deer. just my two cents!
