    No patience.

    Maybe taking them to places where they can see more game is helpful. Then they start to enjoy the glassing more and develop some ability to wait longer before seeing something. My husband is the same way....he gets bored glassing if we don't see a lot of deer.....I could glass forever though. Glassing just isn't his forte.

    I had a great birthday!! Enjoyed fall color and had a nice lobster dinner in New Hampshire! Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I will post pics from my trip when I get back!

    The lady that killed it is named Erica Bendle and this was her FIRST deer! She said they scored it at 116.

You don't need a smoker to make sausage and you don't have to put it in casings or anything complicated. Just grind it up with spices and use it however you normally use sausage (scrambled with eggs, added to pasta sauce, etc). It's usually better if you mix in some pork butt with it. Pork butt/pork shoulder roasts tend to have a good amount of fat marbled in the meat, so they are good to mix with your game meat. Or you can put in some bacon or some other source of fat so the meat isn't dry when fried up.
