New 2012 Covert Trail Camera models added to store
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
You will love the new models of the Covert Trail Cameras! Most of the models now have the moon phase and temp stamp on them as well as the regular date/time stamp. They put out some economical cameras (the MP6 and CA4.0) as well as some higher end cameras with more bells and whistles. The covert Extreme has been replaced by the Red40 which now has 40 infrared LEDs and accepts up to 12 batteries. Check out the cameras in the NEW Coueswhitetail.com store: http://store.coueswhitetail.com -

Anyone else eating tag soup??
CouesWhitetail replied to ready2hunt's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I came home empty handed as well. Skipped opening weekend so I could get some work done. Hunted Mon to Thurs. Backpacked into one of my favorite places Sunday night and then spent a couples days glassing in 30-40 mph wind! Wow, that was frustrating! Found a couple small bucks that I passed on, then gave up fighting the wind and did day hunts the last two days. Found one big buck on the last day, but we could not relocate after repositioning for a shot. real bummer.....but great to get out anyway! Gorgeous country! -
The San Carlos Reservation has a giant veterans day memorial celebration and rodeo. That's probably what's got things booked up. This one isn't cheap but it's amazing and might have some rooms. http://dreammanorinn.com/index.html or http://chrysocollabedandbreakfast.globemiamicommons.com/

Huntmoore wrote this up about his hunt: Hey gents!! Wanted to show you my Dad's and my early rifle bulls from 23N...we had an amazing hunt and are thrilled with our bulls!! Dad got his 7x6 (very symmetrical...G6 broken off of his left side or he'd have been a perfectly matched 7x7) on Saturday after a full day chasing bugles (big sounding bugles from small bulls) at 128yds! My bull was shot yesterday. Spotted him on the thickest covered hill I've seen....old burn, so tons of fallen trees and new growth. Spotted him early and watched him bed....only got a good look at his right side during our two hours of watching him. He gave me a vital shot at 500yds and I took it prone. Hit him solid, but he was a tough old bull and he kept going...total of four shots from that range (all hits) before he fell out of sight behind thick cover. Toughest pack out EVER! Straight up and down and THiCK cover...but I am so thrilled with his length and mass! No score yet, but royals are 19 1/2" and 20 1/4", 3rds are 19 1/4" and 17"...has a broken g2 (left side), a few inches broke off his left g1, and a few inches off his right g2. I feel very blessed to have killed this old bull, especially after seeing that rough country where he grew big!!

Congratulations on your buck! The antler necklace with Gunner's ashes is cool. Way to take him with you. What a tragedy. I pray your family can heal from such a loss.
