Happy Birthday Lance!

Chasin a dream was an official sponsor for a few years, but they cut back on advertising, so at the moment they are not. But it's fine to mention they are buying. They still support CouesWhitetail.com in other ways. I know the advertising policy can get confusing, and there are always gray areas, but we tend to draw the line at direct links/emails/phone numbers. It's just like in the taxidermy section or anywhere else in the forum. I don't go removing names of taxidermists just because they aren't sponsors....I don't delete mentions of Cabela's or Bass Pro because they are not official sponsors. It's not like you can't mention businesses that aren't sponsors, but just avoid posting direct links or phone numbers or emails. BC777, if you have more questions about this, you can email me or call me. 928-200-0544.

Happy Birthday Ilene!! Tell Roger to be nice to you today for a change! LOL!!

The search feature has trouble with words that are less than 4 characters. I find you can get at least some results, although perhaps not all, if you use quotes and put he word unit in front of it. For example search for "unit 2a"

Yes, very beautiful....

Pine Donkey, the Arboretum is in Superior, about 40 min drive from Globe.....it certainly is a nice place, but I don't consider it local. However, now is a great time to go visit the Boyce Thompson Arboretum...I was there recently and the wild flowers and birds are amazing right now. Great place for a family picnic....if you don't know it they have a nice area where families can have picnics as well as lots of trails to walk and wonderful plants to see. Google it to find directions.

BC777... Josh and Alan have been longtime supporters of this site. The reason you don't see them in the regular way of other sponsors is because they don't have a website yet so I couldn't promote them in a normal way. And so I put their contact info on the shed hunting page on the main site with a copy of their business card. It's been on that page since almost the beginning of this website, ten years ago. Hopefully I will have a website done for them soon so that they can take advantage of the normal advertising like other sponsors rather than just being on the one page. Then it will be less confusing. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/2012/06/why-shed-hunt/ BC777 you are welcome to handle this as critter did by PM'ing the original poster. What I ask of everyone is to not promote their businesses in the forum if you are not a current sponsor....so please do not make promotional posts with your business name, website links, email, phone, etc. Sponsors pay for a higher level of exposure in the forum and main site and so I just can't let every business come promote themselves here for free while taking money from others. This is what everyone agrees to when you create an account in this forum.

Wow, big fish! And interesting info TJ, thanks.

There are several properties for sale with land and privacy....google Globe AZ real estate, there are properties north toward salt river that have land. There are some south toward winkleman too. The one I was talking about is in a fairly busy neighborhood close to downtown, and not really private or secluded.

11 Year Old's Quest For Her First Elk
CouesWhitetail replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Youth Hunters
Great post! Thanks for sharing all the details on your preparations for the hunt. And it's great you and your daughter are doing so much shooting before the hunt so she can make the shot when it counts! -
Contact forum member Grong (aka Josh Epperson). He is a sponsor here and is always buying antler. His cell is 928-300-8707. Or plan to bring your antler up to the Antler Fest in Show Low and Josh or Alan can buy it there. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/48114-shed-antlerfest-2014/

We love living in Globe....as you mentioned it is close to lots of great hunting/camping/fishing. If your family likes to camp, it will be easy to get out for a quick overnight or weekend. There are lots of places to buy or rent, just do a google search for Globe AZ real estate and you can check out lots of houses. There is a really cute one for sale by owner that I saw the other day. Not a large house, but looked nice and had nice yard. I can get that phone number for you if you like. Depends on what you are looking for. The Globe Arts Center is nice and has some nice events throughout the year. The community center is nice with parks and a pool for the kids out by Besh Ba Gowah archaeological park. In addition to great Mexican food, Globe is known for great antiques stores...maybe your wife would like that. We enjoy Globe, but it's getting more crowded all the time. With more people comes more traffic, more development, and more crime. Luckily we are surrounded by public land, so it's easy to get out to enjoy great scenery and wildlife.

Phil's April Tom
CouesWhitetail replied to AZ Ground Pounders's topic in AZ Ground Pounders Outfitters Blog
At first when I saw "April Tom" in the thread title I thought it was going to be a turkey! LOL! Great mtn lion, congratulations! -
It is a jaw-dropping experience! Sorry my photos are not very good quality...camera does poorly in low light, but you get the idea! Make time to attend this event! It's well worth the drive!
