Question about receiving money without being a guide
CouesWhitetail replied to bonecollector777's topic in The Campfire
Call AGFD and ask them....and you might want to talk to several different officers at AGFD to see how they would interpret that. And get it in writing if they say it's OK. -
I hope he came away unscathed from this accident.... do you have any info on his condition?

Wow! that's interesting! not sure what could cause that....but it looks more like it was born that way vs an old injury...it's seems too uniform to be a healed up injury

yes salt is legal....but you can always call AGFD with questions like this so that they can give you the exact regulation that covers it.

I hadn't seen these instant tents....they look nice for ease of setup and take down! Lots of different sizes too! Mr Smith have you had yours out in a big rain storm yet? Do they hold up OK? How about wind?

If you are looking for something inexpensive and yet good quality try looking at Wenzel tents. Our Eureka tent fell apart after many many years of use and we had to get a new tent. I looked for quite awhile at some high end tents but didn't find one I really wanted. We ended up finding a great Wenzel tent online for like $75 and we have loved it. Over 6 feet tall inside and very roomy. It's easier to set up with two people, but can be set up by one person. They have changed their models a little since I bought ours, but I think this one is about the closest to what we have. http://www.amazon.com/Wenzel-Ridge-Four-Five-Person-2-Room/dp/B002PB0DVS Fyi, Eureka might be able to fix your old tent's zipper if you send the tent to them.

Leave a note....you have been very courteous so far by giving up your spot....but it seems obvious the other guy is just leaving that popup there year round, so that doesn't count as first come first serve. I would say go and hunt it, if he actually shows up and beats you to the spot, then go to Plan B, but it sounds like he is rarely ever there. Or if you think he will be there only on opening day, skip opening day there and hunt the rest of the season there. I don't think I would use his blind though.

I just wanted to remind people about this raffle and film expo! Great opportunity to win some gear and see some great films. Use the link in Zac's post above to go to the website to purchase tickets. Even if you can't attend the film expo, you can buy raffle tickets and have a chance to win some great gear!

Wow! that's some serious variety of critters! Are those antelope on June 18? Can't be too many places where you can get javelina, antelope and elk on camera. Neat!
-
I like the composition of the elk in the foreground and background in the second pic! Hope you get some interesting photos on the cam you left out there!
-
Wow, great lion pics! Thanks for sharing them!

Nice selection of critters!

Western Hunter is a great magazine and although I haven't seen the show yet, I am sure it's one of the best out there. Anyone looking for more info on the mag or TV show can visit: http://westernhunter.net/

azbow is correct, some bucks will hang together in groups, while some seem to stay separate...I normally see bucks in smaller groups, but I suppose it depends on the population.

They are cool bugs.....they do seem to come out when the monsoons start. I think they look like engorged red ticks! Some more info on them: http://www.tightloop.com/ants/dinspp.htm

Nice pics! For those interested in the bird species IDs.... you got a Northern Cardinal, Gambel's Quail, Harris Hawk, Great Horned Owl (looks like juvenile male born earlier this year), and 1st year male Vermillion Flycatcher

It rained earlier this week on San Carlos Reservation and it poured in Globe and again on San Carlos yesterday! Thank God for the rain!!

I read this book a few months ago (Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand) and I was totally amazed. What this man went through and survived is just stunning. As Desertbull said....do yourself a favor and read that book....that story will effect you and stay with you forever. Now may Louis rest in peace.

Even though I love the Jim White head, I agree with most people that have replied here that it's a little too light for using the triclawps to shoot off for longer ranges, like over 400 yards. What I usually do is have my bipod on the front of the gun and use my tripod with Jim White head under the butt of the gun for more stability. That works pretty well. But if you want to use Triclawps, I would get a bigger tripod and head, perhaps the one CouesnSheep recommended. You can also go to the Triclawps website and buy one of the tripods and heads that they recommend.

Thanks for the game, that was fun! I find most of my sheds walking rather than glassing, but I do find them both ways.
