Neoprene cover for your swaro 15x56s
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
Thanks DB! I will look into it. -
I have a pair I am looking to sell. They are proven to find 120 class bucks! I bought them many years ago. They have some minor marks on them, but nothing that affects the clarity. I will post an ad soon with pics.

Neoprene cover for your swaro 15x56s
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
Sorry for being slow getting back to you guys about this. I just tried pulling the guard dog bino cover onto the new HD swaro 15x56s and it won't fit. It might if you cut the opening more, but the problem is the hinge is lower on the barrels than the older model. So it can't quite stretch enough to fit over the ocular lens (the one by your eye). I will check with the owner of the company and see if he has plans to make a pair that will fit the new binos. -
**Question for the camo wearing ladies on coues whitetail
CouesWhitetail replied to hoghntr's topic in Classified Ads
I second what Kathi has said here. It's very challenging to find good women's hunting clothing and gear (like backpacks). And if you do find it, they charge a lot more for it. My suggestion is to have her try on a bunch, including men's camo and just see what she likes. Most of the time, the women's camo isn't worth the extra money. She might look better in it, but as Kathi said, it will have much smaller pockets and most of the time it will be thinner material that won't be as warm or last as long. I focus on trying to find whatever camo is the quietest, most comfortable, and functional. I can't stand hearing the "swish" of material while walking. -
Yes Becker is correct, the threaded post coming out of the JW panning head should unscrew. It normally does not come with a threaded post like that. Someone added it later.

Thank you all for your prayers! Paul is much better today and has definitely turned a corner and headed for recovery.

Hunter4life....cool article your brother wrote! Neat that it's been documented in the literature.

Thanks everyone! We appreciate the support. I am thankful for good medical care and for all the people in this world that work hard to develop effective drugs. I don't know who developed doxycyline, but as it's just about the only antibiotic effective in the treatment of RMSF, I am so thankful it is available. Bill, sorry for your experience but I am glad you finally got the appropriate treatment. Luckily there was a ton of info about RMSF on the internet and I knew what the treatment would be and if the doctor had prescribed the wrong antibiotic I was prepared to get a 2nd opinion and prescription fast. Luckily Paul's regular doctor was familiar with RMSF and knew the importance of starting doxycyline right away. It's still somewhat possible that he has some other disease (they didn't test him for it because you have to start treatment before waiting for test results anyway), but this is the most likely and the one that requires treatment asap. He is still very sick, but it appears the fever is gone now. I am watching him like a hawk though and not getting hardly any work done today! Cancelled fieldwork for this week. Thanks for all your concern and well wishes.

agfd commission meeting Aug 1-2
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
For those interested in commenting on the newly proposed AGFD website, this issue will be discussed at the next commission meeting Aug 1-2. Agenda item 5 Also being discussed as agenda item 9 is the idea of tag transfers -- "Out-of-Cycle" "Membership Program Tag Surrender, Tag Transfer." I know many of you were interested in these two topics recently, so here is your chance to share your views with the commission in person. Lots of other things will be discussed at the meeting as well. Here is a link to the agenda. http://www.azgfd.gov/inside_azgfd/documents/2014.08.1-2Agenda.pdf -

Thanks for posting this TJ. I came here this morning to do that and noticed you already took care of it. Paul seems to be a little better this morning. He has all the classic symptoms of Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever....recent tick bite, sudden high fever, deep body aches, chills, and last night developed some of the classic spots that the disease is named for. The treatment is simple if caught early. Doxycyline twice a day is the best antibiotic for this. Fever should be gone within first three days of treatment. I suggest everyone who spends time outdoors google Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever. Learn the symptoms and be vigilant because apparently the mortality rate increases dramatically if treatment does not start within first 5 days of illness and you can reduce the longterm complications if you treat within the first day or two, which is what I think we did. This disease is increasing fairly quickly in Arizona. Please let all your friends who love the outdoors know about this disease. I really never thought this was something to worry about in AZ but I was wrong. We knew he had been bitten and so I googled what diseases he might get just to see what we should watch for. I am so glad I did because finding out that the timeframe could be just 7 days before death once symptoms starts made us hyper-vigilant for symptoms. And if it isn't fatal, the longterm consequences are very bad.

Wow, great pics! Makes me want to go back....right now!!

Very nice tribute! She was an awesome dog and you gave her a great life full of camping and the great outdoors. It's so hard to let our best dog friends go....please don't let the pain of loss keep you from giving another dog a great life. So many dogs are in need of a loving home.

Wow! that's a great looking buck, thanks for sharing the pic.

To me, mule deer meat just doesn't taste as good as Coues deer meat. So even with the meat criteria, Coues win in my book.

120 whitetail! I think your vote might be a bit biased given the audience here are mostly diehard Coues fans!

Lots of rain and wind and an unbelievable lightning show here in Globe last night too! My poor dog Julie took to hiding in the bathtub because she was so scared.

Most likely, yes you can go with them. But it's up to the parents of the person who gets the tag and the organization you donate to. Most people who donate a tag do so because they can't go on the hunt, so it's not very common for the original tag holder to go along on the hunt. But the more people there to help the better! and yes, Hunt of a lifetime is another group that does good works with donated tags. What you can do with these groups is call them and ask them if they will be able to use the tag. Some hunts require different physical abilities and it's good to find out if they have a kid or wounded warrior they think can actually use the tag.
