CouesWhitetail gear

Glad you like the hat Mike! You are right, they were expensive to have made, and that's why they cost so much. If anyone decides to buy a hat and then for some reason doesn't like it, I will refund you the money if you return the hat (assuming you haven't worn it while gutting your deer and got blood all over it ). It is a huge amount of work to tan a hide. I tanned a fox and a javelina hide. It's interesting to do, but takes a lot of effort. If you want to make stuff with the hide, I suggest following Rembrandt's suggestion and let a taxidermist deal with it. It is really hard to get the skin smooth and soft if you do it yourself. But if you are really wanting to do it yourself, you can learn how and ask questions at the taxidermy.net forum. Great place. Search the archives and read up before you post any questions though. Most everything has been discussed already. There is a link to it on my links page, or just click here Amanda

Another Utah Bookcliffs Bull
CouesWhitetail replied to CHD's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I love it when bulls bugle all night around your tent! I remember camping on the San Carlos one night and the bulls were screaming around my tent. They were only a few yards away. My poor dog was so scared she practically was sitting on my head and shivering.... And I had the same fun on my state land elk hunt this year. Bulls screaming and fighting within 20 yards of my tent all night. September in elk country is a great time of year! Amanda -
ALYUAZ, Personally I love the San Carlos and would hunt it all the time if I could afford it. However, whether the tag is worth is a matter of your finances. But there are some awesome deer there and the country is gorgeous. Yes, there are places you can backpack into in all units. Each unit produces big bucks so it's a hard choice. If money is a consideration, maybe hunting the Nov season is best. The bucks are in bachelor groups then and the hunting pressure is light so it's not like hunting state land. The Coues deer tags sell out generally the day the go on sale. So if you want a tag, you practically have to camp out at their office the day before they go on sale, which is usually in late Dec or early Jan. Amanda

Flag --- Not sure what's going on with Paypal for you. Sometimes it seems it acts goofy. So if you prefer you can send me a check. Just email me and I will give you a total and where to mail it. Or just try Paypal in awhile, maybe something is messed up on their end. I did receive other orders this morning though so it seems to be working for some... Amanda -

Diamondback - it's not blood, but I did have to wash the dirt off so you could see the sticker. I didn't take the time to let it dry, so it's just water running off. A XXXL thong? hehe, of course if we did that, you would have to send in a photo of you modelling it Amanda -
Thanks for letting us know TAM! I got a unit 24A HAM javelina hunt! Yippeee!!! No turkey or buffalo though. Amanda

Yes, I got your order Rembrandt. Thanks! Wht_MtnMan - I am planning on doing a low profile version. It may take some time though. The company that did these hats can't do the low profile ones. But I think I have a friend who can. So if you like low profile hats, just hang on awhile. Thanks for the orders guys! Amanda -
muzzleloader trophy catagories
CouesWhitetail replied to jimlynchaz's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
There is the National Muzzleloading Rifle Association also referred to as the Longhunter Society. I am an official measurer for them as well as the other recordbooks. So if you want something scored, let me know. You can also contact them by phone at 812-667-5131. or visit their website: NMRA Amanda -
The moose looks cool! Amanda

You sure your friend took that?? Looks like a doctored photo to me. An albino deer would be a cool thing to see though. Amanda

Hi All, Well, I finally got some baseball hats embroidered with a coueswhitetail.com logo on them. Hopefully you guys will like them. Rich Thompson from this site really helped me out getting these made. It's been a long time coming. Thanks Rich! Anyway, check 'em out and see what you think. CouesWhitetail.com Baseball Hats Terry, sorry I never saw your request for the CouesWhitetail.com sticker for your Bronco. If you really want one, you can certainly have one. I figured no one but me would want something that big on their vehicle, but I guess not. I have a friend in Phoenix that wanted one for his truck. If anyone wants a sticker like the one on my jeep, email me. The large letters (the C and W) are 3 inches tall and the smaller ones are 2 inches tall. The whole name is about 2.5 feet long. See photo below. I can get them in any color and can make it smaller or whatever. The cost would be about $20. They can go on a window, a bumper, or wherever. They are strong vinyl and supposed to last several years. I have had mine for quite awhile now and it looks as good as it did on day one. Can't say the same for the paint job on my jeep...which is 15 years old. I know lots of people want some smaller stickers and I have been trying to find a quality sticker maker. I have run into several snags on that. Seems they can't print the logo as nice as I want it to be. Amanda -

Great job guys! I love to see those father/kid photos! Amanda -
Great job Scott and Austin!! And guys, please remember, that Tommy is a sponsor of this site. So if you are going to hunt NM, give him a call and see if he can help you out. Obviously, he did a great job for Scott and his boy. The link to his website is in Scott's first post in this thread and also on my the main page of this website and left-hand margin of every other page. Amanda

Here are some nice pictures of a buck that William Bendall got this past weekend. His two sons are with him in the photos. The older son is named Bryson and he frequents this forum and will probably give us some details on this hunt.

Awesome buck Chris! Thanks for all the details too! Amanda

Congrats Doug! Are you going to show us any photos?? If you want, you can email them to me and I will post them for you. Amanda -
Mike, I can see 2 of 3 photos, although they took a very long time to download. Not sure why others don't see them. The one that seems to be unable to download is the post that says more sheds. Mike, you can email me the pics and I will load them on my server and then post the links here. I don't know why your way of doing it isn't working.... Amanda
