  5. nice poem Ernesto! Sounds like you had a nice morning. By the way I like your ever-changing hunter safety reminders in your tagline. Yesterday I was out walking my dogs in the hills and some stupid teenagers were shooting an air rifle (didn't quite sound like a shotgun) at something. Not only were they within 1/4 mile of occupied buildings, but they were within a few hundred yards of me and my dogs and also in an area posted as a no shooting, no hunting area. When they saw us approaching, they came towards and shot as we walked by (we were on a dirt road!). Really gives hunters a bad name. Amanda

    Burro Mountain Sunset

If you want it for your computer background it will be a perfect size. I have a large screen and it looks great on it. It won't be the size you see when you click on it, it will enlarge and look great. Try it. Amanda

    AZ Deer Assoc Hunter Clinic

No, you don't have to be a member to attend. It's free for youth hunters aged 10-17. Otherwise it's $10 at the door or free if you buy a membership there. We always have some great bucks there and some optics and gear you can look at. And CW.com member Stanley will be running a special program for the youth hunters. Great fun!! Amanda

  16. It's Horse Mtn from the Galiuros in unit 32. I had a tag there a couple years ago and did a backpack hunt in there with my husband. We had a great old juniper we camped under. It was late morning and I had decided to come down and glass a thick canyon that you can't see (it would be in front of the photo). It was a place I knew deer bedded. Anyway, before I got to work doing that, I turned around and saw the mountain looking nice. I took the photo just for the website, although I think at the time I hadn't launched the website, I was just creating it. Amanda JVS, I can email you the best version of that photo in case you can actually turn it into wallpaper. It probably wouldn't have good resolution that large though.

10% cap coming back to AZ tags

The court injunction has been lifted! Contact Rory Aikens (602) 789-3214 Public Information Officer Arizona Game and Fish Department NEWS RELEASE For immediate release Aug. 25, 2005 Federal judge removes injunction on 10-percent nonresident cap There is more good news for Arizona hunters: U.S. District Court Judge Robert Broomfield on Aug. 22 honored the Arizona Game and Fish Department?s motion to revoke the permanent injunction prohibiting enforcement of the state?s 10-percent nonresident cap on big game drawings. ?This means the last major legal hurdle has been crossed. Now the Game and Fish Commission can continue moving forward with its rule making efforts to reinstate the 10-percent nonresident cap,? says Commission Chairman Hays Gilstrap. Arizona?s original 10-percent cap on nonresident hunt tags was created to protect hunting opportunities for Arizona residents. Last year in July, a U.S. District Court declared the cap unconstitutional, citing the federal Commerce Clause as the reason, and issued an injunction prohibiting the department from enforcing the cap. That court action set in motion an exhaustive effort during the past year by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission and the department that involved hunters and other stakeholders to institute a wide range of strategies to help protect resident hunting opportunities. More recently, the U.S. Congress recently took action to renounce interest in regulating hunting and fishing permits under the federal Commerce Clause, opening the door for states to impose caps and other limits on nonresident hunt opportunities. At its August meeting in Flagstaff, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission approved a notice of rulemaking to not just reinstate the 10-percent cap, but to expand the cap as well. The original 10-percent cap applied to bull elk, buffalo, bighorn sheep and some antlered deer units. The commission voted to expand the cap to include all antlered deer hunts, plus pronghorn, javelina and turkey hunts as well. For most species, the cap would be applied at no more than 10 percent of the tags available for each hunt number. ?The rule process takes time and involves lots of opportunities for public input, but we anticipate having the caps in place for the 2006 big game drawings,? says Gilstrap.

    FIND THE COUES!

Well, it's a little easier to see in the second zoomed in photo. In the first photo, it's pretty impossible to tell that from a boulder. Nice photos though, thanks for sharing. Amanda
