Wow, nice deer! Amanda -
DBarcher, Congrats on your deer. And if you have the pics in a digital file on your computer you can easily post them. Start a post, then look near the bottom for the "attachments" area. Then use the browse button and find the file on your harddrive and select it. Then click the button to the right that says "add this attachment". You can add text to the post as you do normally. Once you post your message it will show the pics. Try and see if you have any trouble. Amanda

here's another idea

Somebody take some pictures of the group when you get together! We can post them in the forum. Amanda -
Sorry to hear about the run-in you had Lark. Glad it wasn't your daughter. The only thing that will really stop immigration is to make it so Mexicans can make a good living in Mexico. They primarily come here for jobs and frequently send the money home to family. If they didn't have to leave Mexico to make money, I think they would stay in their own country. So I think what we need is to cause economic reform somehow. More police, more fences, more guns, won't stop the problem. Desperate people will always do desperate things to live. We need to work with some native Mexicans to help form solutions to the economic problems of the people in Mexico. I really ache when I think of all the ranchers who have spent their lives (and frequently many generations of their family) in a beautiful area in southern AZ. And now they can't let their kids play outside alone or go riding the hills alone. Amanda

I was out in 23 helping at the youth hunter camp that the AZ Deer Association and AGFD sponsor. We had some kids come through with some deer. I didn't get there until Sat afternoon, but we had some whitetail come through Sat morning and some mule deer late on Sat and early Sun. I spent an hour and a half glassing on Sunday morning in some very nice country and didn't spot a single deer! So Jeff, maybe you and I are both blind! It didn't seem too hot to me to find deer out moving around. I did spot a gorgeous fox and a large herd of javelina. And then on the way home I saw three deer on the side of the highway at about 11:30! You should have stopped by the camp. The game warden from Unit 23, Jimmy Simmons had two whitetail bucks spotted on Sat and couldn't find a youth hunter to go after them! Here are some pics of a couple kids who got deer. the bottom pic shown is the son of one of our members, azyoung. His son is Riley and this was his 2nd deer ever. Shane Hogan is the other boy (the one wearing the SWAT shirt). It was his first deer! Congrats to all the kids who got to go hunting! And a big thank you to Stanley and the other folks who helped make this camp happen! Amanda

I deleted it. Thanks for keeping your eyes out for trash. Amanda

Jeff, Send me a CD and maybe I can put together a page of pics of those bucks growing over the last 10 months. Email me and I will give you an address. I am also curious as to what AGFD's involvement was. Amanda

Thanks everyone! I was in New Hampshire visiting my husband's family over the last couple weeks so I didn't see your posts until today. I appreciate the birthday wishes! Amanda

o6 spring deadline
CouesWhitetail replied to muledeerarea33?'s topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
The deadline is Oct 11, but it has to be in the office by that day. Can't mail it that day and expect to be in. I had no trouble getting the regs off the AGFD website. Maybe they fixed a problem? Those of you who had trouble might want to try again. Amanda -
anyone else having this?
CouesWhitetail replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Casey, I hope your date goes well. I think you are on the right track taking her scouting rather than hitting a bar or something. It should impress her more to see you doing something you love. Good luck! Amanda -

Rembrant, I wondered if anyone would recognize it. It's a great song. And I love that quote since it's appropriate to the hunter in all of us. Amanda -
Wow, what an experience! I hope that calf found his mother again. Sounds like he was desperate for company. I have had several close encounters with elk. Had a cow just about to step on my hand until I moved it and she bolted. Have had bull elk screaming at 5 yards. But I have never been sneezed on! Amanda

You guys definitely should support the Tucson Sportsmens Warehouse, the store manager emailed me a few weeks ago to ask if he could use some Coues Deer photos from the Cerreta collection on this site for some tshirts for his employees. I got permission from the photographer for their use for the tshirts, but there was an email problem and the store manager said the timing was such that he had to submit some other graphics in order to get the shirts done on time. However, he was going to try and see if the graphics dept could use the photos even with the delay. I hope he does! At least he is fully aware of CouesWhitetail.com and even invited me to come be there for the grand opening to talk about Coues Deer. I can't make it because I leave for a trip at the time they are opening the store. The store manager is supportive of CouesWhitetail.com and will probably donate some items to the website in the future. So help support them if you live in Tucson! Amanda

I sure hope you don't keep using the dancing fat guy. It's rather disturbing to look at. I vote for the brittany! Amanda -

It does seem like that doesn't it?? hehehe, that's why I tried not to let people know, but now I will have lots of help with these excellent leaders from the forum. They have already taken care of problems for me even when I was home! It's great because with more eyes problems get spotted quicker. So instead of taking 24 hrs or so to get something deleted, they are getting stuff taken down even before others get a chance to read it! Thanks to Ernesto, Stanley, and Coueshunter for volunteering to take on extra duties here. They have already taken some workload off me. Amanda -
I would try for acorns if you aren't seeing them in the pears. Oak trees and bushes are loaded with acorns this year and I have seen bear scat with lots of acorns in them. Deer are hitting them too of course. Amanda

Cool!! I am hoping to get a bobcat on one of my cams. That's a great variety of species to get from one trail cam. How long a time period did it take to get them all? Amanda
