Disapearing trail cam pics?
CouesWhitetail replied to Huntn coues's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I have had SD cards show no pics on them when I know there are pics. I find it's usually just that whatever you are using to read the card isn't reading it properly. For me, I had put it in the slot in my computer and it just wasn't registering the card. I had to keep reinserting the card and eventually the computer recognized it. So perhaps it just wasn't seated right in your reader? Amanda -
Anyone Seeing or Hearing???
CouesWhitetail replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I haven't heard any yet, but your pics sure make it look like he is bugling. I had a herd of elk in my camp the other morning, but none bugled during the night or morning. I once saw a cow elk bugling (got it on film) about this time of year, many years ago. That was pretty interesting. Amanda -
Self-guided is a neat way to hunt Mexico. I am hoping to do it that way this year. And just a reminder, we have several reputable outfitters that are sponsors on this site and offer some great hunting down in Mexico. Don't forget to check them out when you are considering a hunt down there. To see a list of sponsors, go to the main www.coueswhitetail.com page and look on either the left or right hand margin of the page. Visit their websites and take a look at the bucks they have harvested. Some pretty amazing bucks! I hope you have a great hunt Trophymaster! Amanda

what are you guys doing?

Hiking in the catalinas! Straight up, straight down, it's good for your legs Casey. Just drive up mt lemmon and find the steepest place you can (that doesn't require rock climbing gear) and start heading down (and then of course you have to go back up!). That's what I do! Works great! If you don't want to do off trail work, you can hike the Butterfly Peak trail all the way down and if you get motivated you can take it all the way over to the Control road. Or just come back up, it's a workout. Amanda -

Coues n Sheep, yes, that is the yellow stripe of a highway. It's the 1000 road down around triplets on the rez. Amanda -
Wow, that must have been a great experience spending all that time there! Amanda

Hi Guys, Thought you all might enjoy seeing this monster buck that was killed by Kevin Kearney last season while hunting with our newest sponsor, Rio Sonora Outfitters. Brad Fulk is the owner of RSO and he a coues fanatic. Check out his services and the other bucks they have shot by visiting their website www.riosonoraoutfitters.com Check out this buck of a lifetime! Congratulations Kevin! You can read his hunt story in the CouesWhitetail.com hunt story section ( http://www.coueswhitetail.com/hunt_stories/hunt_stories.htm ) or on the RSO website.

I see three, but I assume there are more since you said look carefully! What's up with that photo quality, is that a cell phone camera? Come on Dewey, don't you have a better camera to take with you in the field??? Amanda -

Very cool Dan! Looks like R100 and Big Prairie! Amanda -
A very large storm hit last night just north of Globe and in addition to lots of heavy rain, there was LOTS of lightning. I decided to go out and try and tape some of the storm. I didn't get the best stuff, because I needed to be in the thick of the rain for that and I didn't want to ruin the camera! I tried taping through the jeep window for awhile, but that didn't work well, so I went back down out of the storm and set up at the Gila Co fairgrounds and taped the storm from a distance. here is the link to the 1.5 min video. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/lightning_1.wmv Enjoy! Were you brave enough to watch the video of the rattlesnake Jim? hehehehe oh, and since I didn't have a tape and cable with me in the field I measured it using my compass and a string. Could be off by 4/8 pretty easily, so maybe you were right! Amanda -
Nice pics, looks like very nice country. I love old mines and mine communities. Neat old jeeps too! Rim-to-Rim in one day is hardcore! No pics from your wife's hike? Or you don't let her take the camera! Amanda

Sounds like a great trip Scottyboy! Beautiful pics! Amanda

Found a big WT skull and metate!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
He is a bit short-tined which probably threw you off Casey. But his mass carries well and his main beams are long! Neat buck! I think he looks big on that rock, but then I got to see him in real life and photos probably don't show him that well. My husband put the buck up there figuring it would look good and when I turned and saw it, it made my heart start pumping hard! I got all excited for hunting season for sure! I think that rack looks alot like the one in the CouesWhitetail.com logo, don't you? Check it out: Amanda -

This doe was hit last night on hwy 77 south of Globe. I actually drove by her earlier in the night and she was standing dangerously close to the road. About 45 mins later we came through again and she was dead in the road right there. Very depressing. Went back this morning to see if she had fawns and again like the last road kill doe, she had 2 perfect fawns that were just about ready to be born. The fawns were about 18 inches long from nose to tail. Seems like such a waste of a resource. I have contacted AGFD to see if they want the fawns for mounting for education. Amanda

Thanks Guys! I will be trying to get some better footage when I can. Hopefully I will get lucky I wasn't even sure my camera could pick up those lightning bolts. It did a pretty good job. I tried to do some filming of a cool storm last night on the rez, but it was too far away and the camera just couldn't capture it. Amanda
