CW.com tshirts and other items
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
As most of you know I have been wanting to get a CW.com tshirt designed for quite awhile. Rembrant is hopefully still going to do a pen and ink drawing for us, but in the meantime, I stylized a couple photos to make a neat tshirt. Remember that giant buck that Wards Outfitters posted (Cedro they call him)? Well, Steven is generously allowing use of that photo and I also am using a photo of one of Scott Adams' sons glassing. Thanks Scott and Steven! Looks cool, I think. here are some links to the design ideas. I ordered a few of the shirts today and they won't be in for a couple weeks. If the quality is good, then I will sell them on the site. here is a link to the shirt here is a link to a water bottle with CW.com logo: here is a link to a beer glass Like 'em? Amanda -
There have been lots of toy recalls lately due to lead paint. If you have young kids, you might want to check out this link which gives a list of the recalled toys. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6946752.stm Amanda

Well, I got the proof today of the Cedro deer design and they couldn't make it look good. They said they couldn't do the shading the way it was and when they edited it, it looked like a really bad photocopy of a picture. So I think the Cedro design is out. Bummer... Maybe if Steven can get a pic of Cedro where it's not hidden we can grab the deer out of the background and it will look good. Now the tshirt folks are working on the proof for the shed recovery team shirt. Hopefully that will look good. They may have some of the same shading issues with those sheds though. Hope not. Might have to go with more expensive digital printing rather than screening. But I am working on it! Glad you guys like them so far. Keep your eyes out for photos or whatever that you think might make a good design! Amanda -
Found this rack this morning (actually my husband saw it first! Thanks husband!). It's got 6 inch eyeguards and decent mass at the bases. Didn't get many measurements since the mosquitoes were relentless and it was tough enough to stand still for a photo with it! It has a few kickers on each side and although you might not be able to tell from the photos it had little nubs at the bottom on the main beams where the ends turn up which would have become double drop tines! This was about a 6 year old buck based on the jaw that was nearby. as it lay....

I don't know if I can get top posters for a particular month, but I can check and see. I know the software tracks top posters for the day and for the forum for its entirety (sp?). Amanda -

Jim's book is great for quesitons like this one and many others. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy and read it. Go to his website to order a copy. I think I forgot to mention that age has a bit to do with it also, since the buck has to get old enough to have a mature body before putting in extra energy into larger antlers and some of the genes don't express themselves until the buck is older. Amanda

That is quite a collection we got going here! Amanda

Some nontypical points are related to genetics, such as droptines and palmation. Other nontypical formations, like some bumps or bent tines or double main beams are generally due to injury to the antlers in velvet. You can also get nontypical formations due to injuries on the body and frequently they will show up on the opposite side. For example if he injuries his back left leg, his right antler may show abnormal growth. Cactus bucks grow without shedding due to a lack of testosterone, which can be caused by injury to the testicles. Amanda

The beer glasses would probably be around 5 bucks each. I think it would be pretty neat if we had a collection of them with different bucks on them. Also, if anyone wants to design a tshirt or something, feel free to come up with a design. It just has to be 300 dpi resolution so it won't get blurry. Amanda
