Please welcome Coosefan as a Moderator!

The thread was deleted. It got way out of hand. But anyway, this thread is about welcoming Jimbo, our new hall monitor Love that graphic Jim! Amanda
  2. Hey guys, I was just looking through some forum statistics and it seems we have set some records last month in terms of forum posts (and many other forum stats). Anyone want to guess what the total number of posts was for July 2007? How about the number of topic views for the entire forum? Whoever guesses closest gets a free CW.com tshirt (which still have yet to be printed!). Amanda

Guess how many posts in July?

No, I haven't figured out how to do that by month. Amanda

Anyone seeing lions while out scouting?

Yes, it was houndsmen that pushed this through. They were trying to be proactive and help make lion hunting less vulnerable to attack by those who feel hunting in the summer is cruel because kittens might be left without a mother. I have a copy of the letter the houndsment put together, but I have to dig it up. Amanda

    Prickly Pear season

I have never tried "beer" margaritas! Sounds good. For my margaritas, I just do a blender full of ice, then pour in margarita mix to fill about 3/4 of the blender and then top it off with tequila and ppear juice. Just a reminder that there will be a prickly pear juicing class at Boyce Thompson Arboretum this Sunday and also the following Saturday. http://cals.arizona.edu/BTA/ Amanda

    Garmin Stinks

Sorry to hear about your customer service issue. Hope DB's advice fixes your problem. Personally I think Garmin products are awesome, but then I have never had a failure with one. And that is despite leaving one baking in the sun for a couple days in the desert in the summer (eventually found it and it was working) and also despite running my GPS over (unintentionally!) with my jeep. Guess how many posts in July?

The correct answers are: for number of posts in July - 3,765 (which is about 120 posts per day) for topic views for July - 143,047 So the winners are: anthonyr was closest on number of posts (his guess 4100, difference is 335) younghunter was closest on topic views (his guess 100000, difference is 43047) So if anthonyr and younghunter can PM me the tshirt size and mailing address I will send you one of those orange shed hunting tshirts when they are ready (in about a week or two). Or if you want to hold out for another shirt design, let me know, but that may take quite awhile. For those that are curious to see how the forum has grown, here are some stats for the same month in previous years: for number of posts: July 2003 - 151 July 2004 - 1135 July 2005 - 1333 July 2006 - 3054 July 2007 - 3765 Amanda

Arizona Black Rattlesnake, which many people also call a Timber Rattler since it is generally found at higher elevations (ie, in the timber). http://www.reptilesofaz.com/Snakes-Subpage...c-cerberus.html Amanda

    trail cam videos/pics

My guess about the guy with the yellow rope is that it's not really yellow rope but a yellow measuring tape used in forestry or wildlife biology to lay out a transect or measure a line. You can see him walk over that large downed tree rather than around it. That's typical for someone laying out a transect or having to walk a compass bearing and measuring distance. here is a link to the type of tape I am talking about. http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/product_...age.asp?mi=4396 Amanda

    Favorite Coues Taxidermist?

I got to see Gino's lion mount today in person and it really is great. That face is intense! Clay did a great job. And for those that are not aware of it, Clay is the only taxidermist sponsor on this site! Thanks Clay! Those considering getting a mount done should go up to his place and check out his work in his studio. Amanda

Unit 9 "thief" still at large!

bcoover, I don't think those allow for remotely following the unit does it? You are thinking of attaching one to a trail cam, right? It would just track where the GPS unit went, but if they stole it, you wouldn't be able to download the data anyway...unless I am missing something. Amanda

Great buck! Hope she gets him! And Troy, sorry I didn't get to meet up with you at Gino's. At least I got to see all the cool mounts at Gino's house and meet his wife. Amanda
  21. As most of you know I have been wanting to get a CW.com tshirt designed for quite awhile. Rembrant is hopefully still going to do a pen and ink drawing for us, but in the meantime, I stylized a couple photos to make a neat tshirt. Remember that giant buck that Wards Outfitters posted (Cedro they call him)? Well, Steven is generously allowing use of that photo and I also am using a photo of one of Scott Adams' sons glassing. Thanks Scott and Steven! Looks cool, I think. here are some links to the design ideas. I ordered a few of the shirts today and they won't be in for a couple weeks. If the quality is good, then I will sell them on the site. here is a link to the shirt here is a link to a water bottle with CW.com logo: here is a link to a beer glass Like 'em? Amanda

    Toy Recall

There have been lots of toy recalls lately due to lead paint. If you have young kids, you might want to check out this link which gives a list of the recalled toys. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6946752.stm Amanda

    CW.com tshirts and other items

Well, I got the proof today of the Cedro deer design and they couldn't make it look good. They said they couldn't do the shading the way it was and when they edited it, it looked like a really bad photocopy of a picture. So I think the Cedro design is out. Bummer... Maybe if Steven can get a pic of Cedro where it's not hidden we can grab the deer out of the background and it will look good. Now the tshirt folks are working on the proof for the shed recovery team shirt. Hopefully that will look good. They may have some of the same shading issues with those sheds though. Hope not. Might have to go with more expensive digital printing rather than screening. But I am working on it! Glad you guys like them so far. Keep your eyes out for photos or whatever that you think might make a good design! Amanda
