    Got binos need tripod

Velbon replaced their old Chaser EFL 3a and 4a with the Velbon Sherpas. The new models are called Sherpas and are very similar to the old Chaser series. The Sherpa 750RA is a replacement for the EFL4A and the major difference is that it now has a geared center column. The Sherpa 600RA is practically identical to the EFL3A but is a different color now. I use the sherpa 600ra and find it's a great tripod. Very sturdy and light given that it's a fullsize tripod. I use a smaller tripod for backpack trips, but anytime I want something really sturdy I take the velbon. And keep in mind that if you buy a tripod from me and you decide it's not right for you, you can return it for a refund. I suggest you come up with your must have list for what you want in a tripod. How heavy, how sturdy, how tall, how small it will pack and then see what meets your criteria in your price range. Carbon fiber tripods are nice and light, but they are generally twice as expensive too. Amanda

    IT'S OFFICIAL 125 2/8 gross & 115 5/8 net

Justin, It was very nice meeting you and your friend today. That is definitely an amazing buck. It has over 9 inches of deductions (mostly due to the extra tine on the left antler that is like 4.5 inches long) and still nets over 115 as a typical! I don't think that picture does it enough justice. Got any closeups of you with it? Amanda
  7. Hi All, This article was provided to me by John Koleszar and it was published in the latest issue of "The Tracker" (AZ Elk Society newsletter). The first page describes the illegal activities and the next page lists the court actions taken for each individual.

So what's the scoop with moving back? Seemed like MT was a good fit for you with all those awesome bird hunting spots. At least you should be back in AZ in time for a very good wildflower year! Get your little girl out in a field of flowers and snap some pics of her! That'd be beautiful! Amanda

    Burris Signature Series Binocular Adapter

If you mean the swaro adapter that Jim White makes, then there are two versions of it. One is taller and should allow your barrels to close together. The post is about 1/4 inch wide at the part between the barrels. For my swaro 15s the barrels close completely because there is a little indentation there where the post is. You can always order one and try and and see. If it doesn't work for your binos, you can send it back for a refund. Amanda

    Burris Signature Series Binocular Adapter

See if the cap on the hinge between the barrels (end farthest from your eyes) unscrews to reveal a 1/4" threaded hole. If so, then yes, the front mount adapter should work fine. Sometimes the cap on binoculars is not easy to unscrew. You can also probably call the company you bought them from and ask if the cap unscrews or call the manufacturer. I briefly looked online and didn't see where it said the cap would unscrew. If you don't have a threaded hole in the front, then you can use the velcro adapter on it (it's on the CW.com adapter page). That's what I use on my zeiss 10's because it doesn't have a threaded hole. Amanda
  13. Awesome!! Hopefully I can actually make it this year!! Thanks for organizing this Lance! Amanda

    Archery Shoots

I had just added that cactus classic to our calendar in the forum a couple days ago. I encourage you all to take advantage of the calendar function here at the forum. Here is a link that has a explanation of how to use it: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...?showtopic=6549 If you look at the bottom of the forum main page, there is a section that shows calendar events that are happening in the next 60 days. If you click on the event name, then it gives you more info. If you go to post something, just try and make sure someone hasn't already listed the event already by clicking on that date on the calendar and checking what is listed. Amanda

    Please read

I just got this from AWF. It gives a little more info: Arizona Wildlife Federation Announces ACTION ALERT!!!! ACTION ALERT!!!! ACTION ALERT!!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY-RIGHT NOW! The Arizona Wildlife Federation has received word that the Senate Appropriations Committee of the Arizona State Legislature is again going to attempt to raid funds designated for the Arizona Game and Fish Department as outlined below: $732,000K from the Conservation Development Fund which will have the "side affect" of making the Game and Fish Dept. ineligible for over $15 Million in Federal funding. $2.9 Million awarded from the La Oso Desert Bighorn Sheep Settlement (Silverbell Mtn herd)which should be going to benefit our Desert Bighorn Sheep populations. $4 Million from Arizona's Watercraft Fund $1 Million from the OHV Fund at a time when much needed changes are about to happen regarding sensible OHV management guidelines. We need your help in averting this funding crisis for the Arizona Game and Fish Dept. Arizona's outdoors enthusiasts have had it with the legislature year after year raiding funding from much needed projects and programs managed by the AZ Game and Fish Dept. Arizona's wildlife and habitat has been under increasing stress factors over the last several years and will be into the foreseeable future due to our rapid, uncontrolled growth and development in every area of the state, climate change factors and the uncountable number of associated negative impacts from all of those things. The Arizona state legislature could not pick a more dangerous time to ignore the long term affects of all this by diverting vital funding that allows the Arizona Game and Fish Department to pursue programs and science that will help them to enact policies and management, which will preserve our wildlife heritage. In the context of our future, Arizona's wildlife and habitat are the most important things to guarantee for the future, as they are the very reason why people want to come here and stay here. The economic benefits of this factor are well proven and of immeasurable value. The legislature, by committing these acts of misappropriation of funds that benefit wildlife, is willfully interrupting and preventing the very programs and actions that will keep that portion of the economy a viable asset. Please email or call all these legislators listed below who serve on the Senate Appropriations Committee to ask them to not rob the Arizona Game and Fish Dept. of the funding we outlined in this Alert. Senate Appropriations Committee Members Paula Aboud, paboud@azleg.gov , phone: 602-926-5262 Amanda Aguirre, aaquirre@azleg.gov , phone: 602-926-4139 Carolyn S. Do Gooders

I don't have it handy, but when I had a hunt down there several years ago, a BP agent gave me a phone number you can call to report stuff like you saw. You can probably find it online if you search around. Anyway, it's like a hotline for reporting illegals. That way you don't have to lose time trying to find a BP agent on the road when you are out. if they dont have antlers...

Yes, they were most likely does. The bucks are still rutting at this time of year and still have their antlers. They don't shed them until later in the spring like April and May. You can find info on the antler cycle in the coues deer biology section of the main site. The link below will take you there. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/coues_biology/life_stages.htm Amanda

    LOL!!!
  23. Here is what Pete Cimellaro, president of the AZ Deer Association, says about Larry Voyles. I don't really know Larry, but sounds like he was a very good choice. To All: This evening the Commission chose Larry Voyles as the new Director for the Arizona Game & Fish Department. Kudos to the Commission for hiring someone who can heal the agency as well as its relationship with sportsmen. Those of us who know Larry and have had the privilege of working with him, have received the absolute best news we could have hoped for. He deserves our congratulations and support! Pete

Boys and Girls, We Have a BRONZE!!!!!!

Congratulations Jason, that is some fine work!! Someone is going to be very lucky to win this peice of art!! You guys might be interested to know that Jason is donating a mule deer and a coues deer bronze to the AZ Deer Association auction. So you can have a chance to get your own bronze at the auction. The auction will be held on May 10. I plan to get a table or two for CW.com'ers for the banquet. Maybe someone from here will get to win a bronze at that banquet. Thank you Jason! Amanda
