Thanks for all the great pics and story. Always enjoy reading your posts Scottyboy. What is it in your pic titled "if ya see these, you are in the right area.. Be ready! They're REAL close!" Dust baths? Scratching marks? I can't tell what I am looking at.... Amanda -

The Wife and I go on a date!
CouesWhitetail replied to Lance's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Kudos for the KUDU buck! hehe, wow, Carrie is one tough lady. It's tough enough to hike hills when you feel strong, much less when you are sick as a dog! That's some perserverance! Way to turn that truck back around to extend the hunt too!! Awesome! Amanda -

I got this deer this past Aug. My dad Jimp had taged out on a 2 pointer on opening day. We glassed this guy up on the first tue. of the hunt about 400 yards away. I made a stalk on him. When I came over I thought he would be about 150 yards down the hill. To my surprise he was walking 30 yards from me down the hill. When I shot him he didnt go far. First time me and my dad got 2 coues with a bow in the same year. With my daughter geting her first deer this has been a great year. You guys should get a pic of your dad, you and your daughter each holding their respective deer! That would be a keeper! Three generations of coues deer hunters! Amana

Well, my husband and I did our annual trip out east to visit his family. His father and mother own a gorgeous 400 acre farm out there with several ponds and as of the last few years a cornfield. The other fields are for producing hay and the rest of the property is wooded with a mix of pine and maples. Since the cornfield has come in, there are more geese and turkeys there. Every morning and evening the turkeys would come in and the toms would strut around. Seeing turkeys strutting in front of fall foliage was pretty neat. I digiscoped a few pics, but they are pretty fuzzy. Some of the geese: As we travelled around NH and Maine we were treated to spectacular foliage. My brother and sister-in-law loaned us their VW bug convertible for the week and we drove around with the top down often!! They have 9 kids (yes, 9!!) and so we are always busy there doing stuff with the kids. We took them to the beach and to pick out pumpkins to carve and more. here are some pics: one neice playing in the sand: a nephew out by the water: more beach pics: And here are some foliage pics for you to enjoy: and some of those veterans related shots I posted in another thread....Those veteran memorials and graveyards looked wonderful surrounded by colorful trees.....the last one shows a grave marker with the twin towers on it...perhaps that person died in the attack on 9-11 We got to drive along the ocean as well and one day there was a hurricane somewhere offshore and the waves were smashing over the barriers along the highway. Reminded me of the spray like you see with Old Faithful. We very much enjoyed our trip! Lots of great family visits and food. Lots of lobster, clams, haddock and scallops! YUM!! The weather was wonderful, was much warmer there than here when we left! Hope you enjoy the pics! Amanda
