Win a Covert II Trail Camera!!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
I think the big difference is that you paid for the dozen eggs and you were told up front it was a dozen eggs. As I mentioned in my previous post, I clearly stated the methods up front. Anyone not liking the methods doesn't have to play. No one is forced to enter this game and there is no fee to play, it's just for fun. This isn't some kind of devious bait and switch plot to defraud you. For those that missed my mentioning of how the count would be done, here is the quote from the very first post in this thread: "The person closest to the number (either high or low) wins. I haven't yet figured if I am going to count each individual bean or get a rough estimate based on weighing a 100 beans or so and figuring it out. But either way, you have to accept the answer I come up with as the one you have to get closest to." Amanda -

Hehehe, I see you noticed that I didn't mention the number! I didn't want to give away too many clues! But I can tell you there are more beans than I thought were in there! Amanda -

Win a Covert II Trail Camera!!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
Its Amandas game, she can take a wild guess with em for all we care Thanks Terry! While I can appreciate that people might want the actual count, this is just a game and it's for fun!! the methods were clearly stated in the first post. And, heck there is no charge to guess and I am not convinced even if I did a complete count that I wouldn't have made a mistake somewhere while counting - it's a LOT of beans!! Last night, after starting to count out the beans I realized it would take forever and I just don't think it's a useful way to spend my time. So I decided to go with the weighing method. I counted out several groups of a 100 and weighed them on a very accurate scale I have and there was very little difference in weight between the groups. I used the avg weight of a group of 100 to calculate how many beans there are. So I now have come up with a number of beans that will be the number on which the contest is based. Next person who makes a $200 donation gets the number! JUST KIDDING!! Good luck to all in the contest!! There have been some close guesses! Amanda -

Hector?? What's up with that pic? Are you insinuating that I have animal porn on my computer? hehehe, that's definitely an odd pic..... And for those that may want to contribute to the site but perhaps can't afford a cash donation now, there are several ways to help out. One is to continue adding useful, positive content to the site through great stories and pictures and advice. Another is to think of ways to improve the site, such as suggesting new features or forums or whatever. And still another is to get donations of hunting related items from whoever you can so that we can use them in a contest, like the annual coues buck contest. Really this site wouldn't be possible if everyone didn't contribute in so many ways. Thanks to everyone for helping to keep this a fun and productive place for us all to gather and exchange info and stories. Amanda -

Chef has definitely been a blessing to this website!! He really is helping to move CW out of the red! If I had a payroll....he would be on it! Thanks to all that are making donations! This actually has been an exceptional year for receiving donations. People have stepped up to help make the Coues Buck Contest stand on its own rather than having it cost me money. And the people who attended the ADA banquet this year voluntarily (through Chef's prodding ) paid the corporate price which saved me money there (usually I subsidized part of that as an incentive to go). And people have made donations at our get togethers. I definitely appreciate the people that value this website! Thanks so much! Amanda -

They are gorgeous animals, it's a shame to see them hit on the road. Recently there was a perfect looking bobcat on the side of the road here in Globe. Amanda

Well Chef, I guess I am going to have to stop talking to you if you are going to put me on the spot like this..... As always Chef is being very generous and I appreciate it. Anyone wishing to help CW.com can do so using the orange "donate" button found on the main page. http://www.coueswhitetail.com It's under the menu on the left hand side. All donations are appreciated! Amanda -

@$#^%&*@ Camera thieves
CouesWhitetail replied to crazyaboutcoues's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
Bummer about your cam..... One of the things I like about these new smaller cams is that they are easier to hide. The little scoutguard/covert I cams can be set on the ground and covered with litter or hidden in a rock pile. People tend to look for cams on trees, but setting them on the ground can still get your pics and are perhaps less likely to be noticed. Amanda -

I don't know the entire range of the plant, but I know in AZ it likes dry, rocky hillsides that are from 3,000 to 5,000 feet. The ones I photographed above were along the road up mtn lemmon, somewhere around molino basin. But this plant is very easy to overlook. It's fairly non-descript until it flowers and it only flowers for a short time. The plant occurs in many of the sky islands also. Amanda -
I think you meant to write "cease" instead of "seem." Well at least I hope you did... hehehe, wow, I didn't even catch that. I read it as "cease". I sure hope that's what he meant!! Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. Nice to know you guys are enjoying the new look. Amanda

Hi All, Just wanted to let you know that I am adding a Christmas "skin" to the forum for the holidays. Thought it might make a nice little change and add some warmth to the forum for the holiday season. Hope you guys don't mind it! Amanda
