4 dead batteries, 0 dead deer
CouesWhitetail replied to bgirdler's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
That is a nice pic. Get restocked on batteries and get back out there! Glassing skills will come with practice. Hopefully you will find someone to go out with. You can also choose the option of paying for some glassing lessons from Duwane Adams, who co-wrote the book "How to Hunt Coues Deer". He gives some great lessons and it sounds like you would really benefit from his experience. He is real easy to talk to, just give him a call and see what he can offer you. His number and email are on his website. http://www.arizonabiggamehunting.com/ Amanda -

CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
CONGRATULATIONS MATT, Hey I was thinking on you and I was wondering how you were doing on your hunt. Now I can see you did AWESOME!! I guess no more deer fever ha? Good Job Amanda, good job Matt, since you guys make and excellent team, you should come and help me out on my hunt. Are we going to be able to see the shot on film? Congrats again! Is a hard buck to score so I will guess....112. Ernesto C Yes, I got it all on film. The buck almost immediately goes behind a juniper tree and must have fallen there because I never saw him come out. What a moment that was to walk up on that downed buck! Amanda -
Congratulations Clay!! Heck of a shot you made! Amanda

Yes, having forked g-2s is unusual in Coues. Don't see it very often on San Carlos either. Amanda -
Win a Covert II Trail Camera!!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
Ok, we have a winner!! The number of beans to get closest to was 3160 and Chuckd guessed 3150! So he was within 10 beans. Next closest was elkdeer with his guess of 3125. Many people were close, but I only have one camera at them moment to give away. So if Chuckd can please email me with your full name and address, then I can get the prize out to you. Thanks to all who played!! Seems like lots of you enjoyed this game! For those that are wondering, I used the avg weight of 100 beans to figure out the number of beans in the jar. I started out to count them all, but dang there were a lot of beans in that jar!! In fact I couldn't even cram them all back in there after counting a bunch of them. Amanda -

Skin 2

I agree, it seems easier to read. I like the color scheme, I just want to customize the icons a little more and get a better banner up top. Amanda -
Skin 2
CouesWhitetail replied to willhunt4coues's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Yes, you can choose out of the three skins. I will be switching the default skin to the Club on Jan 1. I am still working with someone to make a more custom one, but for now, it will have to do. Amanda -
I figured it out...
CouesWhitetail replied to Coues Sniper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks for filling us in and glad you seem to have it figured out! I guess I better triple clean my gun the next time too! Amanda -
It's always best to call the San Carlos Recreation and Wildlife dept to verify stuff like that since it can change without much notice. And best to talk to several people since you can get different answers to the same questions at times. Amanda

Yes, it's R100. R100 is a special closed area that you can't get into without a special permit. But if you are hunting regular units like A, B, C someone can go with you on your hunt if they have a recreation permit. It's illegal to have a non-tribal person guiding you, but you can have friends along. Amanda

We were supposed to go with Ajohunter, but he was too busy killing a 180 mule deer with his bow this weekend!! Hopefully he will hit the rez next weekend. Amanda

CouesWhitetail replied to WHALE's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
You will figure it out. You just had added the same attachment a few times, but not to worry, I cleaned it up for you. Welcome to the site. If you have any questions on how to use the forum, you can email me at amanda@coueswhitetail.com Amanda -
I loved it! Thanks for having us along. You and Shane and your tribal guides were great fun to be around. What a pleasure it was to be out there glassing some gorgeous country and seeing lots of very nice deer! Can't wait to get back and help you get a big one on the ground. "Click!" Don't sweat that miss, it was exciting and it just means you get more days to hunt!! Did Christian tell you what we saw just minutes after you left for your long drive home? The snow opening morning just really added to the beauty of it!
