I have been meaning to create this Memorial forum for awhile now. But the recent posting by Kent of the loss of his son has prompted me to get it done. It's a tragedy to loose someone you love, but you can honor their life by sharing your memories and photos about them here. You can post about a CouesWhitetail.com forum member or their loved ones who have passed on. Since many of us have pets that become a strong part of our family, I thought this could be a place to put a memorial for your pet as well. Amanda

Great news Jason!! Hope your move goes well. As someone else mentioned, watch the heat while packing up the truck! I helped moved my dad once in this kind of heat and it was rough! Now maybe you can start bringing your family to our CouesWhitetail.com get-togethers! You realize that now that you will be in AZ, people from the forum will be putting more pressure on you to stat turning out those little bronze whitetail sheds!!! What I am leaning toward doing now after the Marshall Lake campout is getting a nice propane smoker like Gino had. he made bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers and prime rib smoked to perfection. Those kinds of meals can be set to cook and smoke slowly while out on an evening hunt. Amanda

Here is a nice one that I learned from Ben Brochu while out doing a wildlife water project. It's very easy, fairly quick and very satisfying. Obviously you can make a smaller batch for fewer people. Also, you can take some of your home cooked chicken rather than canned. Or do like I have done a few times and take a rotissiere chicken from Fry's and use it in the soup. Then it's got lots more flavor than the canned. Tortilla Soup for ~25 people -12 cans of Swansons chicken broth - 4 cans of diced tomatoes - 8 small cans of diced green chilis - 4 bunches of cilantro - 2 for soup and 2 for topping - 4 bunches of green onions - 2 for soup and 2 for topping - 1 large onion - 3 cloves of garlic - 12 cans of diced chicken breast from Costco - 15 limes - shredded cheese - tortilla chips - salt and pepper to taste Put all of this together and bring to a boil and cook for at least 30 minutes until the onion is soft. Once this is done, it's ready to serve. Top with cheese, tortilla chips, cilantro, green onions and a squeeze of lime. You can also top with peppers and avocado if you want. I think the soup is actually better the next day after the flavors have combined better.

I would say generally you can take the SD card out and use it in your camera to view photos. That's what I do for both the Covert 1 and 2. However, RedRabbit just informed me he wasn't able to preview images from his Covert SD card in his high end digital SLR. I don't know if all SLRs are like that or just the one he has. I use the SD card in my little point and shoot digital and it works great for reviewing photos. I have a Canon Powershot. But you can always see more details on the computer at home, so I take an extra SD card and swap them out so I can view the images larger on my computer. Amanda Not only can I view with my camera, I also format the cards with it before installing. Works great every time. I was impressed with the sensitivity of my Covert 1. I picked up a doe who just barely peeked her head into the photo! I set it up so that I could try and take some photos from further away this week so we will see how far it can reach! Those who can't read the cards with their cameras, try formatting them in the viewing camera before installing in the Covert. They are saved as JPG so if you can't read them, it is a directory issue. Do you only format the cards on your regular camera and not in the Covert? Still works in the Covert OK? What brand/model camera do you use to view the pics? Amanda

There might be a way to navigate on your nikon to the trail cam folder. I know my canon allows me to create folders (which I never do) to organize images. You might check your manual if you haven't already and see if there is something you can do to view that other folder. Sometimes it's just a default to read the folder it created, but you might be able to change that default or just navigate to the other folder somehow. My Canon seems to create a folder also, but I think it only does this when I actually take photos with the camera. But when I just put the SD card in with trail cam images it just reads those images.
