What's Up With The Signs
CouesWhitetail replied to wardsoutfitters's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I would call AGFD and ask to speak to someone who heads up the landowner/access program. Maybe this person is the place to start: For additional information or questions on the Access Program Please contact Al Eiden, Private Lands Stewardship Coordinator at (623) 236-7624 or aeiden@azgfd.gov. Also, you might look up in the meeting minutes for the landowner/sportsman relations committee. You might find some info in there. http://www.azgfd.gov/outdoor_recreation/la...committee.shtml -

From Eddy Corona: Hello everyone I hope that the summer heat has treated everyone fair. Today I am writing to invite everyone to come out and support a good cause. If you play golf or are just a hack like myself then this is a great opportunity for you. On September 26th the Ryan Thomas Foundation is having their First Annual Ryan Thomas Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament. You will be treated to dinner, silent auction and door prizes with a live band. The Ryan Thomas Foundation is also a great supporter of the Outdoor Experience 4 All. They are donating some of the proceeds to OE4A that we will use to help out with this years camp. OE4A is going to put on about 15 more hunting and fishing camps for Arizona children. Please visit the web site at http://www.TheRyanThomasFoundation.com and read the story about Mr. Ryan Thomas. If you are not a golfer you can still help with a sponsorship or donations. Thank You for Your Support, Eddy Corona Outdoor Experience 4 All 480-529-8340

How do you pass the time in the blind?
CouesWhitetail replied to capt88's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I do some reading. Those are some of the times I really appreciate the small camo bible I got from Desert Christian Archers. It's easy to pack and of course always has something interesting to read in it. Amanda -
Monster Muley 236" 9x11 Down!!
CouesWhitetail replied to glassm'up's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
+2 Ha I got the same message and did not care for it. I have asked him to not PM users in this forum, since many don't care for PMs like that. Hopefully he is not doing that anymore. Amanda -
It does look like you are figuring it out. One thing I find that helps me is that I focus the camera by half pressing the button down while holding it up to the binos or scope and then use the fine focus on the binos/scope to make the image in the LCD panel on the camera be in focus. Also, if you apply the "unsharp mask" in adobe photoshop element to your pics afterward you can sharpen them up. There are probably other programs that can do this also. Amanda

Monster Muley 236" 9x11 Down!!
CouesWhitetail replied to glassm'up's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Just an FYI - You do not have to be a member of CouesWhitetail.com to view photos or content here. We have thousands of people who frequent this forum and have never joined. And just so people know, I am not against RutNHard or other forums, but really it comes across as spam when you link to another site that you have to join to get access to content. Amanda -
Nice shirt!! Oh and nice deer too!! Amanda

CouesWhitetail replied to glassm'up's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Yes, it would be nice if you didn't use my forum to steer traffic to another forum. Especially when in order to see the pic you are referring to you have to join another forum. You aren't really adding content here, and instead are detracting from it... Amanda -

Jim Heffelfinger discusses them in his book Deer of the Southwest. here is some info on Carmen WT that he emailed me awhile back: "There is a smaller form of whitetail (Carmen Mt Whitetail) that is intermediate between the Coues and the South Texas whitetail that lives in the Sierra del Carmen, Chisos, Davis, and surrounding small mountain ranges. There is also the desert mule deer that lives in the Big Bend area" Scottyboy, got any pics of your buddy's buck? Amanda

I don't know any definitive way to know (other than genetic testing). But the way I judge it is just the shape and size of it. For a WT to be that big, it would have more mass. It's a fairly thin antler yet it's got a good beam and tine length, so it's likely a young mule deer. Maybe some other people have a better way to tell it, but it's just the overal shape and size of it that gives it away. If you look at enough sheds from both species, it becomes easier to tell one from the other. Amanda

Ban him for one week for posting that stinky carp pic Good idea!! LOL!! Amanda

Maybe Scottyboy will do it, he is usually up for a serious workout.... Thanks for riding for the charity! Amanda

Congratulations! If you have some photos, please post. Amanda

Yeah, not sure what's up with that since I can see the file is there. I will work on it. Maybe I need to change the format. Amanda
