Yes, it looks like a cub lion to me as well. I actually hadn't noticed the tail of the mother in the grass!! Cool!! I wondered how I missed her, she must have passed by in less than 1.2 secs. here is a second pic of the cub, tail of the other lion is gone:

It does look pretty big....hope you get a better pic next time! Were your batteries low and therefore no flash on your cam? The lion doesn't look that far from the cam that the flash shouldn't have lit it up. Amanda

I had the same thing happen to me. Got pulled over for speeding (twice in the last several years) and both times we ended up talking about the website and I got off with a warning. It's nice to have a way to connect with an officer, seems to make a difference. Seems like most DPS officers are hunters. Amanda

Do you have an LCD display on your cam so you can see the image before you take the pic? Sometimes when I am getting the cam lined up on the scope the image will appear washed out but I can just move the cam so it's lined up differently and it will show a normal image then. Amanda

Mike is almost right on with his post... Yes the rancher gave us permission to shoot lions, but I've never heard him say the ranch is "over populated" with lions. I've killed a couple lions with Randy Epperson in Arizona and didn't feel like killing a female or one of her kittens. I was there to hunt deer, and besides we didn't have lion tags! I agree... lets not make this a shoot the lions post. It was my decision and I chose not to. Thx! For being so feminine I sure helped Mike drag his buck a long way As for the video, I have 18 minutes loaded on my laptop. I have no idea how to post it, and I'm pretty sure the file is way to large to email to someone and have them post it for me. Sorry, but I think you will just have to use your imagination!
