CouesWhitetail replied to AZMEATHUNTER's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Sorry you lost your hunting buddy... just remember all the time you spent with her enjoying what you both love to do. Neat that you got a pic of her last point and buried her there. Amanda -

Right now I only sell the Covert cams and they don't have a cell option. Thanks to all for providing info on those cell systems, I don't know much about them so it's good to hear experiences you guys have with them. Personally, I like checking my cams though, I can learn more about how wildlife are using the area by hiking in there and looking at sign. And thanks for the plug for the Coverts too! They are great little cameras! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/trail_cameras.htm Amanda

How Many Deer
CouesWhitetail replied to John O's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
It is hard to tell from the photo, but he does look like a good buck. 90+ seems reasonable. Guess you will have to try for him again next bow season! Amanda -
Went up with the husband and dog the other day to play in the snow around Timber Camp. My husband tossed snowballs for Julie and she was doing a bunch of amazing leaps to catch them! I should have gotten some video, but by the time I thought of that she was exhausted and the leaps weren't as impressive. Anyway, here are some pics of her trying to catch snowballs. She will leap and twist any way to catch them, even if it means landing on her back! In several of the pics you can see the snowball in the air or crashing apart in her mouth. Guess I needed to use the "sports action" setting on the cam to get better pics! this one is already in her mouth: she even went after snowballs that we threw into the icey creek! That frigid water didn't seem to bother her a bit! Oh, and here she is after she is exhausted and sleeping next to her stuffed toy!!

Video clips are usually too big to upload directly here, so you have to upload them on another site and then post the link. YouTube or Photobucket are free and easy to use. Amanda

Julie definitely has a nice life, although she is currently healing up a 3/4 inch diameter hole in her shoulder from hitting something (barbed wire fence I think) while chasing a rabbit full speed. It amazes me she doesn't come home with broken bones everytime we go out. She goes full speed through everything! Catclaw thickets...cliffs....barbed wire fences....she is a force of nature! Lucky for me she slept with her hurt shoulder down in the pic of her sleeping or you guys would think I abuse the poor girl! Amanda -
Bryan, I took these on the way out the other day. Thought you might enjoy. Amanda

Wow, Casey that is rough! Prayers go out to their families for strength to endure. Amanda

yes....here is a link to how the NWTF calculates scores: http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/turkey_score.html I think SCI doesn't include weight in the score, but I could be wrong. Amanda -

here is a link to a little video, it's after she is already pretty worn out from the hike and playing earlier, so the leaps aren't nearly as big, but still you can get an idea: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/...e_snowballs.wmv -
Glad you liked the pics! And lucky for me, I didn't get stuck! Amanda
