Not real sure what you're getting at Hendo. Not even sure what would make you think this deer is anything other than 100% Coues? What is it that makes it seem questionable at all actually? And who has ever led on that a lot of the Northern AZ deer are hybrids? Sure it may happen from time to time but the way you keep pressing the issue I wonder what your true motives are. Please elaborate in a New Topic as not to take away from this awesome buck and to put it in the "Questionable" category. Although this topic has been discussed quite a bit before. But if you have something new to enlighten us with please please, lets hear it. A monstrous CONGRATS to headhunter for one heck of a buck!!!! +1 on what Josh said. I really don't understand what would make anyone think this is a hybrid. It looks 100% coues to me. It's just an awesome buck!! Congratulations to Harold for a buck of a lifetime!! Amanda

I agree with you Coues Sniper! I am a big fan of skulls rather than mounting! That's what I go with mine. I assume he had already decided to mount both the replica and the real one. Oh and nice chatting with you at the show in SLC, CouesSniper! Amanda

Try both and see which you personally like better. I use the Jim White head and love the small size and lightweight as well as high quality workmanship. The new outdoorsmans pan head is very nice though!! Amanda

Hey, If any of you are going to Salt Lake City this weekend for the Western Hunting Expo, look me up and say hi. I will be sharing a booth with sponsor Jim Reynolds (Reynolds Coues Connection). He is bringing at least 13 coues mounts with an average score of like 130!! Wow, what a display that will be! can't wait! Should be a good show and hopefully I will be reaching some folks who aren't aware of CouesWhitetail.com yet. See you in SLC if you go! http://www.huntexpo.com/ Amanda

Enjoyed some little waterfalls while checking the trail cam
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Non-hunting trip reports
Well, the creek that I have some trail cameras on normally is mostly dry except for a few spots that retain at least a small pool of water year round. After the recent snow and rain, I had to wait a couple weeks before I could get in there to check the cam due to several feet of snow in the area. Once we were able to get in there, we saw that much of the creek had lost about 3-4 feet of soil due to major water flowing down it. Amazing changes in the creek, it was almost unrecognizable in some spots!! By the time we hiked it the water was running calmly the entire length of the creek and so we enjoyed some little waterfalls which are normally just dry, short cliffs in the creek. The water made some interesting "loch ness monster" type formations that I thought were really neat looking. I took some video and set it to music. It was truly a beautiful sight to see water running where I have spent so many hours hiking in a dry creek..... I only had my point and shoot cam, so it's not exactly GL2 video quality, but still nice. Enjoy! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/..._Bear_Creek.wmv Amanda -

Yup! I actually have a ton of sticker pics to add to the sticker photogallery. Hopefully I can get them up in the next couple weeks. Finally got them sorted the other day into a folder where they are easier to grab to post. Amanda -

Right now I only sell the Covert cams and they don't have a cell option. Thanks to all for providing info on those cell systems, I don't know much about them so it's good to hear experiences you guys have with them. Personally, I like checking my cams though, I can learn more about how wildlife are using the area by hiking in there and looking at sign. And thanks for the plug for the Coverts too! They are great little cameras! http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/trail_cameras.htm Amanda

How Many Deer
CouesWhitetail replied to John O's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
It is hard to tell from the photo, but he does look like a good buck. 90+ seems reasonable. Guess you will have to try for him again next bow season! Amanda -
Went up with the husband and dog the other day to play in the snow around Timber Camp. My husband tossed snowballs for Julie and she was doing a bunch of amazing leaps to catch them! I should have gotten some video, but by the time I thought of that she was exhausted and the leaps weren't as impressive. Anyway, here are some pics of her trying to catch snowballs. She will leap and twist any way to catch them, even if it means landing on her back! In several of the pics you can see the snowball in the air or crashing apart in her mouth. Guess I needed to use the "sports action" setting on the cam to get better pics! this one is already in her mouth: she even went after snowballs that we threw into the icey creek! That frigid water didn't seem to bother her a bit! Oh, and here she is after she is exhausted and sleeping next to her stuffed toy!!
