40th Annual AzSCI Banquet in Tucson July 11th.
CouesWhitetail replied to cmc's topic in Conservation Group Events
I expect we will have a table or two for CouesWhitetail.com members. Who is interested? I would also like to do like I did last year and offer veterans and currently serving military a free ticket to the banquet. Last year we had several tables full of veterans and it was a great time! If you have served or are currently serving in the military you can email me that you want to go. amanda@coueswhitetail.com -
Well, it's been several years since I made a Coues Celebration video. The Coues Celebration videos showcase member photos and video that has been submitted to CouesWhitetail.com. I like to put these together as a thank you to everyone who shares their trophies here and a celebration of the community that has developed here. My original plan for this video was to do a 10 min video made of two 5 min sections, but it's been taking way too long, so my husband suggested I just publish the first half for now and work on the last half for later. So here is a 5 min video with about 150 photos and videos from the website. Thanks to everyone who continues to contribute great content to this site! Since I haven't made a video in a few years, the content is backlogged and some of these photos are a few years old. I will be making another video with lots more photos and great video. But for now, here is one to enjoy. Hope you love it! Make sure you watch through the credits at the end as there is a pretty amusing pic from the mullins crew

I sell the Jim White swaro adapters in the store. The short one works well on my new 15s. http://store.coueswhitetail.com/swarovski-slc-binocular-adapter/?page_context=category&faceted_search=0

Back country backpack trip for Coues
CouesWhitetail replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Last time I even packed in a tiny pillow that must be from an airline trip though I don't ever remember taking one. I use a stuff sack (the orange one next to pillow) to store extra clothes and use as a pillow too. Always good to have at least an extra shirt since you can often get very sweaty on a hunt in Oct. Hence my pink shirt hanging on the bush to dry off. The light green thing on the orange stuff sack is a backpacking towel...which is nice to have to just cleaning up a little at the end of the day. It also doubles as an evaporative cooler around your neck when hiking. One of the pics shows my backpacking tent (left of the ruler in the brown bags). I don't take that too often unless my husband goes with me and then we share the tent. A few pics. This is my dad's old boyscout pack which I love using. All my buddies make fun of me for it, but it's perfect for me, carries the weight GREAT! -
Back country backpack trip for Coues
CouesWhitetail replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Chapstick is always good to take along. And I use a bivy sack on Oct hunts....might not need it, but it's nice to cut the wind if it's real windy at night. It's real nice in case of unexpected rain too. Plus it helps protect my sleeping back from sharp objects and I can zip it up and store things in it when I leave for the hunt. -
I recommend any of our sponsor outfitters. You can see their button ads on the lefthand margin of the main page. Ward's Outfitters specializes in archery coues hunts, so that might be a good start.

Why are we even discussing this on a hunting site?

I have only seen them down toward Ruby. Nice find! That is one of the birds that people travel to southern AZ and Mexico to see.
-
That's a fairly rare bird! It's a five striped sparrow. You must have been down near the Mexican border! http://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/five-striped-sparrow

Angela sent me this photo and wanted me to let you know she was the crazy lady waving from the Yukon!!

Looks like the quilts don't have a down hood either, which I use all the time on my sleeping bag.

130 hornady boat tail spire point or SST 55.5 gr H4350 I found the BTSP bullet super accurate and the SST less so, but wow the knock-down power of the SST is truly impressive. -
Wow! nice work!!

I have been using a Montbell for years and love it. I think it was what they called a superstrech hugger and it's rated to zero degrees. I have a very light silk liner I can use if it's really cold to add 5-10 degrees warmth. Montbell makes great products and after years of using it, I needed a new zipper. I mailed it to them and they fixed it for free even though they originally said they would charge me.
