Hey All, Many of you know that I am a wildlife biologist who does surveys for all kinds of wildlife. Those surveys can be for big game (elk, deer, sheep, etc), small game or endangered species. I do contract work for a variety of agencies (USFS, BLM, private citizens, etc) and lately much of my work has been on owl surveys. As part of the owl surveys I use what is called "mousing" to help locate a nest and young. Awhile back I started filming some of the mousing sessions and then slowed the video down and set it to music so you can see how the owls fly in and capture the mice. I think the owls are amazingly skilled at being predators and it's cool to me to watch them do what they were built to do. Anyway, as a wildlife biologist I am a member of the national Wildlife Society. The Wildlife Society is an organization that promotes science-based wildlife management and is made up of professional wildlife biologists. Anyway, they are having a video contest this year and I submitted one of my owl videos. In order to win you have to have the highest ranking video and the most views. So if you want to help me out, go vote and watch the video. I think to vote you have to have a Youtube acct, so make sure you login and vote. here is the link: Enjoy!

I am in the lead but I don't know when they are ending the competition. I will let you know when it's over. My husband has gone into full publicity mode and has gotten hundreds of people to watch it, so now I think the next nearest video is 700 views behind me. People seem to really like the video, so that is nice! Thanks to all who are helping promote the video

I enjoyed meeting several new faces and it was nice having two CW.com tables. Thanks for attending and helping to support the AZ Deer Association. I was in charge of the silent auction so I didn't have nearly enough time to spend with everyone, but I did get to eat with you all and had some nice conversations. Thanks to all who attended and help make the fundraising banquet a success!

Ok, just a reminder to those attending, that the banquet is this Saturday night! There will be some great auction items and of course good company with all the CW.com'ers. We have just over two tables of people. Those who I haven't sent tickets to yet, can just pick them up under their name at Will Call. If you want to attend the deer daze seminar, come out early (the seminar is from 1- 4 pm at the same resort as the banquet). If you need tickets to that, ask for me when you get there as I don't think Will Call is going to be set up for the afternoon seminar. But I will have tickets with me. Thanks for all the kind comments guys! The team I skated for didn't get into the final game, but the team I coached did (they were in different divisions). We almost won....but lost 3-2. Still not bad at all considering that team hasn't had any ice time to practice on in a year! They really did play well! And I had a blast being on the ice again. I think I am going to have to get back into it again.

thanks for the cameras but the one dosent work and the other uses a battery faster than a cheetah chasin a rabbit That's a bummer to hear. I used rechargeable batteries in them and they seemed to last a couple weeks. but I found the trigger speed was inconsistent on them. Seemed like they missed some stuff and got others. Guess you will need to save up to get some better cams!
