Scouting Camera Recommendations
CouesWhitetail replied to MangeyJoe's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Just an fyi - The bushnell trophy cam is a copy of the Covert cams which came out prior to them. The cameras are made by the same factory but under different names, so they have the same features. The Covert cams were created by a deer hunter in Kentucky and he has them built in China. However the factory in China made a deal with bushnell to essentially make the same cameras under the bushnell name. -
They may have been flying termites too....they come out and swarm after the rains begin here is a page that compares the two... http://www.pestproducts.com/flyingants.htm

ADA Deer Hunting Clinic
CouesWhitetail replied to WildHeritageTaxidermy's topic in Conservation Group Events
Great! I am sure many people will benefit from your seminar, thanks for agreeing to do that, I know it's a LONG drive for you from Young! This will be a great hunter clinic. We (the ADA) are trying to make it more of a hands-on event for new hunters. We could really use some more volunteers to help with the clinic. Specifically we need a few people to help with the rifle sighting-in portion of it. If you would like to help, please contact Rick Miller karmiller@yahoo.com -
Unfortunately that is not correct or many of us would be hunting at night. Regs state 30 minutes before sunup and 30 minutes after sunset. I think he meant if there is enough light that you can see well enough to identify your target, then it's within legal shooting hrs...generally you can't see much until 30 mins before sunrise (or 30 mins after sunset) Amanda

Welcome and thank you. I too am often amazed the generosity and character shown by people on this site.

I had a blast, but then I wasn't out trying to shoot in the pouring rain! I was there promoting CW.com and giving a seminar on Coues deer. I got to meet lots of people who love this forum and it is interesting how many of them are not registered members! There are people who read this forum everyday for years and just don't post so they don't register.....always amazes me how many people are like that. Anyway, it was fun and a great time talking with familiar faces and meeting new people from the site. There were lots of members that did really well in the shoot. I don't remember all the winners, but Brian Rimsza (and his wife) and Ilene Hailey placed really well. oh, and Couespatrol......thanks for your assistance this weekend with getting members safely to the shoot. Several members were very happy to have met you

1st ever CouesWhitetail.com Bass Tournament!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Fishing
I will check with John Sneed about what time he wants to start registering people. I don't know what the standard is? Perhaps an hour before the event starts? Yes, I will have stickers and shirts there. Not sure what time I will be there, but right now I am thinking around 5? -
1st ever CouesWhitetail.com Bass Tournament!
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Fishing
Actually I don't know what site you are asking about, but anyone is welcome to fish this. Since we are doing this with such short notice, I wanted to leave it open to anyone so we can get more boats involved. The more people fishing, the more fun it seems to me. Also we have to get like 20 boats to at least cover expenses involved. -
Wow!! Sorry to hear about your adventures with lightning!

Love it!! Traffic light definitely needed!

Guayos on the trail for Carne Asada after a long day Coues deer hunting is to die for!! They make it with a fatty steak covered in green chiles and smothered in melted cheese!! YUM! Here is one no one has mentioned yet. It's a small place called Los Robertos and it's near the Globe library. They make AWESOME carne asada burro. They are very large and loaded with well seasoned slices of steak with salsa and avocado bits. Great to take on a backpack trip for the first night's dinner. And I also love Burger House for burros!

I managed to pile up the speeding tickets this weekend on the way to and from Jim's party!! I haven't had a ticket in many, many years, but for some reason I had a big red X on my jeep this weekend. I don't think I have ever had a sheriff pull me over before either, but this weekend I managed to attract not one but two of them! I must have seen about 20 sheriff cars out there this weekend in the Tucson/Sahaurita area. WOW, never seen that many in my life. Maybe they are mad that AZ just stopped using cameras to catch speeders??

So what does the Q stand for in your name?

Welcome and thank you for sharing your excellent pics and successful hunts! Love the pic of you packing out your deer. Congratulations on that fine buck!

Hope you are out checking some trail cams today Tim!

Hunting lions with dogs is one of the most physically demanding hunts I've ever been on. The dogs don't make it easy, they make it possible. +1
