Gorgonzola cheese and grilled onion venison burgers
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
well...if you hate blue cheese, go easy trying this one...it's still got some of the bite like a blue cheese...but I still like it. -
Gorgonzola cheese and grilled onion venison burgers
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
Thanks for the tips Chef.....I am going to keep messing with it to see other ways that I like it. I am not a big fan of really strong cheeses, but like you said, Gorgonzola is different when melted and it's actually very nice. My husband LOVED it! It's real easy to make a cream sauce with it. -
I am familiar with stitching shots together to make a panorama but this is something altogether different. The resolution on this is phenomenal. You can zoom in on far away parks and see the kids on swings. That's cool! I wonder what type of camera was needed for this. Be a bummer to have the photo day be the day you decided to sunbath nude in your yard! there is a LOT of detail in that photo!

hehehe....nice! gotta love it when that happens

Maybe ask Lance if there are certain groups or people organizing the volunteers so that if someone wants to help they can contact someone to find out how and where.

An attempt at digiscoping
CouesWhitetail replied to Condor's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Looks pretty good! It's really tough with digiscoping to get a good focus. I find it works well for me if I push the camera button down 1/2 way (so the cam does its focus) and then look at the image in the LED screen on the cam and then focus the image using focus knob on the optics. Is that what you did? -
Thank you Redline!! Excellent review and I love all the extra pics (coati, old pan on the fence, spring..)! A trekking pole with shoulders!! LOL!!

Wow!! Very cool! Thanks for posting them

I emailed the USFS to try and get one, but haven't heard back yet. You can call the local office if you like. Google Globe ranger district for the #.

We should probably put some of this info it their own threads. Coach, maybe you can start another thread about your trout so people can find it more easily? And likewise DB could start a thread about wild food blogs? Just an idea....

Great post, thank you MattMan!

You might also find this old thread useful. It talks about peoples' favorite Coues Taxidermists. I don't know if you are looking for one for Coues or Elk or what, but you might find that some taxidermists do better with certain species. Some might be great for mountain lion, but not so much for Coues. Some might be great at Coues but not lions....etc. Anyway, read through this thread there is a lot of good info in it: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...?showtopic=6645

There are many great taxidermists in AZ. Of course I recommend to everyone to support those that support this website. We have three taxidermist sponsors right now and they do some outstanding work. Please consider them when searching for a taxidermist. Clay Goldman in Payson - http://www.mogollontaxidermy.com/index.html Weller's Wildlife in Tucson - http://www.wellerswildlifestudio.com/ Wild Heritage Taxidermy in Young - http://www.wildheritagetaxidermy.com/ All three of these are Official Sponsors of CouesWhitetail.com.
