Many of you know Jeremy Browning (aka jeremyb) recently opened his own business after working for 12 years in the meat processing industry. His new, super clean shop is in Payson and he is open and ready for business just in time for the hunting seasons. Jeremy LOVES to cut meat and he will give you great customer service. He offers processing for all game, custom cuts, breakfast sausages, italian sausage and more. AND he is offering 10% off anyone who shows up at his shop wearing a CouesWhitetail.com hat, tshirt or who has a CouesWhitetail.com sticker on their vehicle. How cool is that!! In addition, he has teamed up with sponsor Wild Heritage Taxidermy to act as a drop off location for them. Some people find it hard to drive all the way up to Young where Wild Heritage Taxidermy is located, so they have worked out a deal with Jeremy that people can drop their trophies off at his meat processing shop and Wild Heritage will come pick up the trophies as needed. Another great service offered to CouesWhitetail.com members! Thank you Jeremy and Dale at Wild Heritage. Jeremy doesn't have a website yet, but his contact info is listed below. If you harvest something this year, take it to Jeremy....you will get some outstanding processing and you get to help out a fellow forum member. You can read more about Jeremy in his forum member profile.. Holy Cow!! That's an awesome buck!!! Congratulations! sometimes the best times come right after the worst times.... -
+ 1 on the Harris holding up well. Mine has been on my .270 constantly for over 15 years and it hasn't even had so much as a glitch when using it. And I don't remember ever really even cleaning it. It's designed to hold up to hunting conditions. The other thing I love about having my bipod on my gun all the time is that you can easily set your gun down with the legs out and it's a fast and stable way to put the gun down safely. No searching for a tree to lean it against and worrying it will fall.

Duck Recipes --- who has a good one?
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
great story Bill! I ended up doing the ducks two different ways. One was the duck ramaki, which was OUTSTANDING!! And then we also smoked a couple on the grill and then I took those and put them in a crockpot with a can of chili, a can of corn, 1/2 can of pineapple (left over from the duck ramaki recipe), some onions, red peppers, and celery. Had that last night and it was great also! Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. We have another package of ducks in the freezer so I will be experimenting some more with those. -
Oh and Harold asked me to post this pic that he made too

from Lark: Got a chance to hunt elk in unit 1 with my aunt, Georgetta Hughes, from safford. Her husband has pneumonia and had to stay home so her little brother, Leroy, came along. Didn’t see a lot the first couple days. did see a bunch of 18 bulls at sundown the first day and figured they would be there the next morning, but never found em. Just saw a few spikes and a lot of cows the second day. changed tactics and dropped down quite low Sunday. Started near the big burn that just took place up there. Saw a big bunch of cows and a couple dink bulls, but she didn’t want anything to do with them. Moved to a little different area that held a lot of bulls last year and jumped a good sized bunch but could never put horns on anything in the jack pines. Moved on around the knoll and jumped 2 young 6x6’s. got them to stop by making a bunch of noise and she got a shot and hit one. hit it really low in the lungs. He bled a lot but we had to trail him for over a mile up and around the knoll in a blizzard in the jackpines. Had to stay on him so it didn’t snow out the trail. Our lungs were burnin’ when we finally spotted him in really thick trees. She made toothpicks out of several trees before she finally snaked an ’06 bullet through and dropped him. A good time was had by all. This is her 9th bull elk. She also shot a very good pronghorn in unit 1 earlier this year. 73 and still hittin’ it. I don’t even try to keep up with her, just hope I can keep her in sight. I’m headed out again today to see if I can be of help to my youngest son, Bridger, on his elk hunt. Later, Lark.
