Poachers Prosecuted in Southern Arizona
CouesWhitetail replied to NRS's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Holy smokes! Can you imagine losing your hunting priviledges for 20 years in 32 states and Canada! Wow! I wonder if it means anything to them though since they don't follow the regulations anyway....I am sure the fine means something to them though! -
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing the pics of those awesome elk!

Taser vs. Stun Gun?
CouesWhitetail replied to 2 Full Curls's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
+1 on the self defense training and bear spray....easy to use and highly effective...just have them get a new can every three years or so as the company says the propellant can leak out over time -
Well, good thing you learned about trail cams on this site! Thanks again....I really do appreciate it. Stop by and say hi next time you see me. Nope the cage traps aren't mine. I haven't seen those and don't know who might own them. The truck I saw had unloaded a quad, so perhaps it was the quad hunter you saw. We were going to park there and check the cams that day, but decided to go to another area so as not to interfere with their hunt.

Thanks for the replies....surely there is someone out there who has actually hunted with a blackpowder revolver? Let me know how it went. I figure I will practice with the revolver and if I am not good with it, I will just use my bow. But I am looking forward to trying an all new weapon type.

Took a break from work to chase deer

nice buck! thx for sharing your outing with us... -
Yes you are right but it didn't just apply to muleys and down soth whitetail tags. One year I shot two coues a week apart off Mt. Ore. and another year bought an over the counter and took my second coues down off the Arivaca Road in unit 36A. If any left over tags where not taken within a certain time frame you could purchace another tag even if you already shot a deer. TJ I like the idea of being able to buy 2nd tags even if you have already killed. If there are left over tags still available the day the season opens or the day before or something like that, why not make them available to hunters who have already hunted in a different season? I asked AGFD that very question at a meeting, but didn't really get an answer. Hopefully AGFD personnel will come comment on why that is or is not a feasible solution.

Nice! It always amazes me what people will throw out. Guess they can't be bothered to take it to a local salvation army store. Glad u found some treasures

hehehe, I am guessing it's my camera. I just put it out two weeks ago. Never thought anyone would get back in there because it's so thick. Saw your tracks all over the place when I checked the cams today. But don't worry I didn't get any pics of you since the cam malfunctioned and took a pic every 15 seconds until it ran out of juice. Didn't get any pics of any critters before it died Thank you for not taking the camera! I sure appreciate it. and that "laundry soap" is deer cane. I recently found a bag of it in the closet that I bought about 5 years ago and never used. Figured it would be better put to use out in the woods than sitting in the closet. I walk my dogs in there a lot. They love to splash in the creek, so that makes a nice stroll for us from the highway. I figured whoever it was was in there pig hunting. I was gonna make a post and see if someone would answer so I could thank you for respecting the camera. You beat me too it. Send me a PM sometime when you are going to be in town and perhaps we can get together to say hello. Do you have a gold colored truck? One was parked there the other day.... Thanks again and I hope you get your pig. Those javelina are always in there, but it's so thick it can be hard to find them!

We still have some space open for more students at this camp, so if you know any woman wanting to learn how to hunt, let her know about the camp and have her contact me. link to camp info: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/womens_javelina_hunt_2011.htm
