Looks like the camp is going to be full with 30 women students. I could use some more guides. If anyone is interested in coming as a mentor/guide, please contact me as soon as possible. You don't have to know the unit, you just have to know how to hunt safely. AGFD has provided lots of info on javelina herd locations for this camp. If you want to be a mentor, fill out the registration form and email it back to me. The form is on this page: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/womens_javelina_hunt_2011.htm

Due to my recent freezer-filling trip to Alabama, I have been enjoying an abundance of game meat. Just in the last week we have had wild hog backstrap wrapped in bacon and smoked on the grill, italian sweet fennel venison sausage in tomato sauce over pasta, venison tacos, amazing venison burgers, and wild hog green chile stew. Here are a few pics I took with the cell phone of some of it. I learned how to make these tacos from my buddy Scott who likes to make them when I visit. This time I have alabama venison ground up and then seasoned with garlic, black pepper, and some hot chili powder made from home grown peppers of many kinds. Spread a little of the meat on a fresh corn tortilla and fry it up. Then add chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro and cheese. Top with taco sauce....YUM!! Wild Hog Green Chile --- we took one half of one backstrap and after smoking it on the grill, put it in the crockpot for about 8 hrs with some roasted green chiles, some chopped tomatoes, sliced garlic, some golden hominy, some garbonzo beans (just because we had a can of them, they don't add much flavor...the hominy is way better), onions and menudo spice. Thickened the sauce with some corn starch and it was awesome. The menudo spice really made it good. Before I added that it was ok, but that made it perfect. Top with shredded cheese if you like.

The Puzzle Rock Buck
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
He is a little bigger than I thought...before I killed him I was guessing he would go less than 104, but he is 106. Neat buck and I love having his sheds which we found in prior years. That's the first time I have had multiple years of sheds from a buck I have shot. -
+1000 Naturebob please don't use this forum to belittle border patrol agents. There are many fine agents out there working hard battling an extremely difficult problem in this country. As with any agency there is always room for improvement. but calling them lazy, dumb, and scared is inaccurate, irresponsible, and offensive to many of the fine agents that give their all on the job. For those wanting to check the status of the site yourself, you can use google's safe browsing tool. Google is constantly scanning sites and if they find anything they report it and put a warning on the site. The forum site never had anything found on it, but the main page of coueswhitetail.com did as you can see in the links below. here is a link to the report for the forum: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnos...eswhitetail.com and here is a link to the report for the main site: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnos...eswhitetail.com it gives a slightly different report for the site if I don't include the www, but still says the site is not suspicious http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnos...eswhitetail.com It says the site is not currently suspicious and that the last time it found anything wrong was 1/27/2011. Google says it may take a day for all the site warnings to stop. Other browsers like firefox use google's database to determine if a site is suspicious, so eventually those will clear too.

Tj, I have tons of javelina herd locations already from the game wardens out there. So you will be all set. But if someone wants to share their info with you, all the better. Amanda

I suggest everyone clear your cache on whatever browser you use to make sure it's loading the most current page. I don't have any problem accessing the main page or the forum from my home computer or Droid. And I have called several people to have them check on their machines and they don't get any errors. So try clearing your cache and see if that doesn't help. not sure what else to have you do.

As a reminder to everyone, please make sure you send the link to your post to Red Rabbit so you get entered in the coues buck contest. The deadline to enter is coming up fast! read this for more info on the contest: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/Coues_Buck_C...est_2010-11.htm

I think the problem is cleared up...I reloaded the main page and asked google to re-scan the site and they did and now google has removed the warning about the site.
-
So you are able to access it now with Internet Explorer with no problems? A few people have gotten the malicious code message when visiting the main page (not the forum), but I reloaded the page and it should be safe. I suggest to everyone to clear the cache in their browser and visit the site after clearing the cache to see if you get any more messages. I have asked several people to test it out and no one seems to be getting the messages anymore. Amanda

Golden Eagle Distributors (the Budweiser distributor for most of Arizona) has just signed on as a sponsor and they have a PSE bow giveaway that they are promoting until the end of March. Golden Eagle Distributors (GED) has strong ties to the hunting community and in fact two CW.com members that work there suggested that GED come here to promote their PSE Bow giveaway. Thank you to those members and to GED for supporting CouesWhitetail.com! GED will likely have other promotions they will highlight during the year. So click on their banner ad and you can see what they have going on. When the promotions change we will change out the banner design too, so you will know when something new is happening. here is a link to the page where they have the current PSE bow giveaway: http://www.gedaz.com/articles/index.cfm?ac...p;articleID=342

Welcome to Golden Eagle Distributors!

LOL!! Guess you need to get yourself a budweiser hat to wear in your pics! Lucky for me, I shoot a PSE ....but this year I am opting to use a blackpowder revolver...dang it! I better read the rules and see if I can submit a pic from last year.
