Outstanding!!! That's wonderful to see you out there with all those beautiful children! they are obviously having a great time! Congratulations on getting your bird too!

Nice pics!! I love spots with such variety of critters!

Thanks for the idea! That looks great. Does anyone do anything creative with feathers? Maybe painting on them, or like I saw one lady use some to coat a cleaned deer skull...that looked cool. I hate to throw the feathers away, they are so beautiful.

You generally have to buy them 6-12 months ahead of the season. So you can buy spring 2012 tags now. here is the link to their website with the hunting schedule: http://www.scatrwd.com/Hunting_Schedule.html The spring tags sell out fairly quickly, so if you are sure you want one, I would get it now. The fall tags don't sell out as fast, but I love that hunt too. I killed a turkey there last fall and had a wonderful time. They have moved the tags back later into April, for awhile they had them in March which seemed early to me. They also went back to having the tags good for all three units instead of a designated unit like it was this year. For me, that just means it's harder to choose where to hunt (too many options!)

Ok, that's great. As long as they are degreased and look good, we can use them! I know javelina get a little greasy sometimes. But they are one of my favorite skulls. Call me or email me your number and I will call you to arrange the donation. amanda@coueswhitetail.com

If you don't find any buyers for those beautiful skulls, you might consider donating them to the AZ Deer Association fundraising banquet. I am in charge of the silent auction again this year, and the lion and bear skull would be great donations. email me if you are interested, or call me. 928-200-0544

CouesWhitetail replied to motoxno53's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Just an fyi - Bull Basin just signed up as a sponsor of CouesWhitetail.com, so as I always I ask that if you can, please support those businesses that help keep this website growing! Bull Basin is a full service archery pro-shop in Flagstaff and Tucson. They carry all the major bows (PSE, Hoyt, Matthews, Bowtech, etc). This special event that Motoxno53 posted about is happening at the Tucson store this Saturday, so swing on by and have some fun and get ready for archery season! Thank you Bull Basin for your sponsorship. -

If anyone wants any turkey feathers, let me know. I skinned the bird, so I pretty much have all the body feathers, plus wings and tail. not sure what I will do with the wings and tail. The last gobbler I got I did a tail and wing mount that looks awesome, but I am not sure I want to do the same thing again. I already have another turkey tail fan from another gobbler too. anyone have suggestions?
-
you must be stoked! those are some great finds!
-
Don't forget that in addition to just trying out bows, you can get expert advice at Archery Headquarters(in Chandler), Chasin' a Dream outfitters (in Payson), and Bear Mountain (in Mesa). These are all sponsors of this site and provide some great service and can help you with your decision.

Congratulations!! That's wonderful!

I am so jealous! I know you will have a great time! Please share your adventures with us when you get back.

+1 I love those things. They are enormous! -
Just a heads-up, I am now a dealer in Wilderness Athlete products. I really like their energy bars and the hydrate and recovery drink mix. I haven't had a chance yet to post the products in the CW store, but you can read about them on their website: http://www.wildernessathlete.com/Home2.aspx

Scott, He is refering to the ballot where you can vote for your favorite guide, taxidermist, archery shop, and even your favorite hunting forum (hmmmm....who should you vote for??? ) CEI puts out a great publication which lists the guides, agfd offices, meat processors, gas stations, etc. anything that could help a hunter in the field. And they do an annual vote to select the top business for each category. So if you want to help out, please go vote. You have to give your email at the end, but Craig won't spam you, he just tries to keep track so that each person can only vote once. So, if you click on the link in his post, you can go vote! I encourage you all to go vote and help out your favorite businesses.

Neat stuff Doug!! -
The term "ungulate" has nothing to do with the digestive system but merely indicates the presence of hooves. Thus all of the African antelope, pigs and horses are included. Perhaps you're thinking of the term "ruminant," which describes the critters with a 4-section tummy. All ungulates have hooves but all ungulates are not ruminants. TJ You're funny TJ.....reminds you of Ag classes don't it??? See how much you can learn on CouesWhitetail.com!
