The National Geographic Topo program is one I use and I love it. however, I don't think you can download the maps to your GPS. You can transfer waypoints and routes from your GPS to the program and you can transfer waypoints back to your GPS, but not the base topo map itself. You can get the topo maps on your GPS from other sources and then transfer waypoints using the topo program. I find the program is very easy to use and I love being able to print my own customized maps with my waypoints on them. One of our sponsors, Flatline Maps, makes a great product that is a combination of topo map and forest service road map. It's great for learning the unit. It's a hard copy map that is designed to last and you can just store it in your truck so it's always there for you. This is an excellent product also. http://www.flatlinemaps.com/

Lark, About it being an inverter, Thanks I didnt know that there was a difference. I saw that on a few websites but didn't pick up on it. Honda wins! I appreciate every ones input. I am going with Honda. It costs a little more but sounds like it is worth it. Anyone know where to get a good deal on one? Thanks , Eric DCS listed a place in his post where you can get a good deal. Look back to his post.

Thanks for sharing the photo. It's the first I have seen of some of the aftermath. That's just immensely depressing. Just makes you want to cry....people cause so much destruction, it's just sad.

Is it possible to organize a fund-raiser/auction? I could give an item for a full donation. I don't have time to organize a fundraiser auction, but if someone else wants to spearhead it, that would be great. Or we could just auction off some items here through the site and give the proceeds to Josh? that would require a lot less organizing.

Wow Orlin, I am sorry to hear about your dog. We have put two dogs down in the last several years and it's just so very hard, but it's the right thing to do. I wish we could apply the same compassion to humans who are suffering at the end of their life. Luckily we have always taken a lot of pictures of our dogs. I think I posted this link before, but here is a video tribute to my old dog Molly that I made from a collection of our photos of her. She was a wonderful dog.

So far we have raised $1300!! Way to go everyone! I think that's awesome. Thank you for your generosity. It's not too late to still donate, so if you want to help, feel free. Any donation, large or small is welcome.

Sounds like you are correct on your guess of where you hit him. Amazing what they can do even when they are injured.

Hunting Southern Units Safe?
CouesWhitetail replied to azffhunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have hunted down there several times and last year helped a friend's 10 year old daughter on her deer hunt. There was a youth camp down there sponsored by SCI and AGFD and there were lots of parents who took their young kids hunting down there with no problems at all. We saw a lot of deer and no illegals. Beautiful country. I also hosted a javelina hunting camp in the 36s for adult women and we saw no illegals and lots of javelina. I suggest you contact the Tucson SCI group or Gabe Paz of AGFD to find out when the next youth camp will be for young deer hunters. Then you can camp with them and get lots of assistance as well in terms of where to go to find deer. here is some info from the AGFD website: Nov. 18-20: Juniors Deer Camp* • Location: South of Tucson • Hunt units: 36A & 36B, apply for hunt number 1163 or 1164 • Hosted by: Safari Club International, Arizona Chapter • Contact: Lisa Marie Gandara (520) 312-8099, or azsci@yahoo.com more info about hunting camps: http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/MentoredHuntingCamps.shtml -

Ernesto, I wouldn't say there was very little response to helping Josh. Actually we have raised close to about $800 so far and in a tight economy, I would say that's pretty good! Thanks to everyone who has donated, I know Josh appreciates it and is very humbled by it. It is indeed a blessing to be able to help a friend. For those that want to learn more about Josh and Jen's situation, here is the thread with more info: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25369 As an update, Josh's wife is doing much better and I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support of Josh and his family during this very tough month they have had.

Nice pics!!

Update from Josh....They ran a ton more tests to make sure it wasn't something other than viral meningitis before giving her oral steroids. Jen says the steroids have helped tremendously. Josh hopes to pick her up from the hospital today. I am sure Josh will come give another update soon....he was having password problems and so couldn't log in to post. I have fixed that. Josh is very grateful for all the support!
