Wow, cool pics! That's quite the mtn man beard you had! Holy smokes! Glad you got it all figured out. the pics look good. -
Quite the adventure and nice pics! I can see how it would be a hard decision to move them and not just leave them there.

Wanting to buy a photo converter

Mine is a HP Officejet Pro L7590. It works great and it's fairly compact for an all-in-one. I bought it years ago though, so you might get the latest and greatest model. -
thanks for all the info Lance and Doug!

Wanting to buy a photo converter
CouesWhitetail replied to tjhunt2's topic in Vintage Hunting Photos
I use my scanner which is an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner. Works well. You might want to sell the printer you have an get an all-in-one unit so you can save space. The one I have is an HP and it's a very nice unit. Make sure whatever printer you get is designed to work with your computer's operating system (ie, Windows XP, or whatever you have). Didn't we have this same discussion not too long ago? -

Doug, I need a new camera...I will be contacting you! thx! Amanda -
I'm gonna take a wild guess at 5-7 pounds. I do have a nice piece of steel that is perfect for a pivoting base. I don't know where it came from, but it is going to be really cool to make a box based on it. That will be in DIY Security Box II at some point in the near future. I'll probably use it for my Covert II, or Moultrie M-80. I've been testing the Covert II, Moultrie-80 and the DLC Covert CA 3.0. Overall, I like the DLCs a little better than the Moultrie based on their triggering distance and speed, but the Moultrie has one awesome feature that the DLCs don't have, which is the "plot-watcher" feature, where it doesn't rely on triggering, it just takes pictures at set intervals (seconds) and using the software provided, and you get a movie clip of the action. This is really good for watching a large area like a field or distant wallow, where the animals might not be within triggering range of the PIR. Actually the new Covert Edge series has that time lapse feature. You can set it from 20 seconds to 24 hrs. I don't have those in stock, but will be getting some. Just an fyi....

here is the link to the agfd commission meeting ongoing right now. Right now they are discussing the new hunting areas that are opening up within municipalities due to a change in laws. And I believe later they will discuss some of impact of the fire on hunting in units 1 and 27 at 2 pm. http://www.azgfd.gov/inside_azgfd/CommissionCam.shtml -

New Bowhunting DVD added to store
CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
thanks for the review....I agree, I like the "common man" feel to the video. -
I just added a new bowhunting coues DVD to the store. This DVD is very different than most hunting DVDs. It doesn't follow a bunch of guides or high profile hunters around while they kill big bucks. It's more of an "everyman" kind of hunting experience, where two friends have been archery hunting in Southern AZ for years and they shot some very good footage and wanted to share their experiences with you all. They don't kill monster bucks, but they use their knowledge of Coues deer to become very successful at hunting them. I enjoyed the DVD and thought you all might also. here is a link to the order page: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/hunting_videos.htm Those that buy it and watch it, let me know what you think.

Unit 1, 27, 29, 35a, 36b Hunt closure
CouesWhitetail replied to wardsoutfitters's topic in The Campfire
thx for all the info Steve! I don't know enough about aircraft to know if these will work in AZ or not (i trust your judgement on that), but I think you certainly are correct about finding new ways to fight the fires. Seems to me the current limitations of air support are just that they can't fly in high winds (fire crews report all the time that air support has been grounded due to high winds) and can't carry enough water or make trips fast enough to make a huge difference. Perhaps the water bombers you suggest would work much better. -

Welcome! thx for joining and posting your pics!

I use the Tree60 camera mount which allows you to put the camera in strange locations so it's less likely to be found. It's basically a ball head that screws into the bottom of your camera and then it straps to a branch or whatever so that you can put the camera up higher and angle it down or down low and angle it up. With other setups you are forced more into putting the camera on the straight bole of a tree. This mount gives you the option of putting it on smaller branches or non-straight trees. You can find it on my trail cam page: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/trail_cameras.htm
