CouesWhitetail replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
Everyone who ordered a map before I took the buy buttons down will get their maps. Some just won't get mailed until I get another shipment of maps from Flatline Maps (expect that to arrive by tuesday next week). Mike, yours went out already. You should have them soon. -

They did go fast...in fact I way oversold them from what Jim and Rynda originally donated. Wow, I couldn't believe how fast they sold. -

Great pic!! -
Is your camera on water? Maybe there is some other water in the area that the deer are using more often instead of the one you have your camera on. Speaking as someone who regularly takes my dogs for walks on USFS (and I always take them when I go check my cameras), I really doubt the guy and his dogs are causing that much change in deer visiting the area where your camera is. Especially since he is doing his walks at a regular time, which means the deer can easily change their routine and just come in later if they wanted to. I know when my dogs visit the spots where my cameras are, I have deer, bear, bobcats and more walking by pretty quickly after we leave. Doesn't really seem to bother them. I think deer react more to immediate threats (as in when they smell a lion is nearby NOW stalking them vs walking by an old lion track or scat and smelling that).

They are working on other units. I don't know when they will have those particular units done.... I would just check their website periodically or call them directly to find out. flatlinemaps.com -

Josh Eppersons wife has viral meningitis and has been bed-ridden for three weeks. Josh says they were just talking one day and she thought her neck or back was going out. She laid down and has been in bed for weeks now. It is really bad, and she was just admitted into the hospital. I don't think Josh has medical insurance and so the trips to the ER and now the hospital will really hurt them financially. Please pray for Jennifer and Josh and the kids as they go through this.

Here is a new way to help raise money for Josh and Jen. Jimmy and Rynda Hoffman, owners of Flatline Maps (a sponsor of CouesWhitetail.com) have graciously donated many of their hunt unit maps to be sold in order to raise money for the Eppersons. In order to facilitate quick sales, the price is set at 1/2 the regular retail price. So you can now buy the maps for $19 plus tax and shipping. These are very high quality maps that combine the info found on a USFS map (roads, tanks, etc) with a hunt unit boundary map and a topographic map. They are made to last and will be great to keep in your vehicle so it's ready for use at all times. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/maps.htm

Connor Catchment completed and dedicated to Mike Bool
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Wildlife Projects
The AZ Deer Association would like to thank all those who volunteered to help complete the Connor Catchment this past April. This project was special to the ADA because we decided to dedicate it to Mike Bool, the son of past president Mark Bool. Mike was a dedicated conservationist and hunter. His young life was cut short when he was killed in a car accident. To read more about the project, visit the ADA website: http://www.azdeer.org/Projects/connor_catchment.htm Mike loved to hunt Coues and here is a picture of him with a fine one that he shot. -
I don't know how I missed this thread, but I can see how this would be a very sad day. Its a beatuful stone cabin and I bet you will rebuild and will be able to continue making family memories. I am sure that stonework took your grandfather a lot of time to build, its great that at least that part is still standing.

Although much of the USFS land is closed, making it hard to camp, the 3d archery shoot at Sunrise is a go this weekend (July 1-3). Lots of fun courses and events, click the link below for more information. http://sunrise3dshoot.blogspot.com/2011/04/2011-sunrise-3d-shoot-july-1st-2nd-and.html

Mine is a HP Officejet Pro L7590. It works great and it's fairly compact for an all-in-one. I bought it years ago though, so you might get the latest and greatest model. -
thanks for all the info Lance and Doug!

Wanting to buy a photo converter

I use my scanner which is an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner. Works well. You might want to sell the printer you have an get an all-in-one unit so you can save space. The one I have is an HP and it's a very nice unit. Make sure whatever printer you get is designed to work with your computer's operating system (ie, Windows XP, or whatever you have). Didn't we have this same discussion not too long ago? -

Doug, I need a new camera...I will be contacting you! thx! Amanda -
I'm gonna take a wild guess at 5-7 pounds. I do have a nice piece of steel that is perfect for a pivoting base. I don't know where it came from, but it is going to be really cool to make a box based on it. That will be in DIY Security Box II at some point in the near future. I'll probably use it for my Covert II, or Moultrie M-80. I've been testing the Covert II, Moultrie-80 and the DLC Covert CA 3.0. Overall, I like the DLCs a little better than the Moultrie based on their triggering distance and speed, but the Moultrie has one awesome feature that the DLCs don't have, which is the "plot-watcher" feature, where it doesn't rely on triggering, it just takes pictures at set intervals (seconds) and using the software provided, and you get a movie clip of the action. This is really good for watching a large area like a field or distant wallow, where the animals might not be within triggering range of the PIR. Actually the new Covert Edge series has that time lapse feature. You can set it from 20 seconds to 24 hrs. I don't have those in stock, but will be getting some. Just an fyi....
