Hey guys, Please keep this a positive thread. If you want to debate the merit of special commissioner tags and/or guides, create another thread and do so without directly attacking anyone. Better yet, if you don't like commissioner tags, contact the AGFD commission and do something to change it. Alan has done a lot for wildlife conservation in Arizona and is a dedicated, passionate hunter. I am sure the Mossback guides worked their tails off on this hunt as well. For the life of me I don't understand why whenever ANYONE (whether guided or not) kills a giant animal there are always people wanting to tear it down. Amanda

Looks to me like that bull was done growing.....

Alan has racked up some tremendous trophies...it's truly amazing. Alan said even though he has hunted the White Mtn Apache Reservation for 30 years, he hasn't ever seen a straight 6x6 this large before! They hunted this bull all year, and ONLY this bull. That was the one Alan wanted. That's dedication.

AZP&Y thanks for posting that link to the answer from a previous post.... Below is a reposting of what I wrote last time, with links to more info on the tumors/warts. They look like fibrous tumors, which do not really cause a problem for the health the of the deer. They don't involve any internal organs, just the skin. And unless they are in locations that interfere with feeding or locomotion or vision, they don't tend to cause problems. I used to see these alot in Eastern deer. Don't see it so much out West. The owners of Flatline Maps (Jimmy and Rynda Hoffman) have graciously donated a lot of their Arizona Hunt Unit Maps to be sold and the proceeds given to members Josh and Jennifer Epperson for their recent medical bills. Jimmy gave me permission to sell these maps for about 1/2 the regular price so that we could sell them all fairly quickly and get the money to Josh and Jen. So if you have been looking at these maps...now is the time to buy! These are great maps for learning a unit. They are basically a combination of a USFS maps (showing roads and tanks, etc) combined with a topo map and a hunt unit boundary map. They are very well made and will last a long time. Check them out here: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/bookstore/maps.htm

All old content is still here and it is located in each of the subforums. Some subforums are newer and so don't have old content. But all the original subforums have the old content. However, like you have noticed, it seems the search function doesn't pull up tthe older content. I don't know why that is the case. If you know the year and subforum that the old content was in, you might be able to scroll through the list of topics to find it.
