Amen.....keep us posted on how this plays out. I am glad you are putting an end to this abuse.

Congrats Jeremy and Lardog! Awesome!

Nice! Looks like a first year Golden Eagle....they have a white band on their tail that Bald Eagles won't have. Both Golden and Bald feed on hunter killed deer and lion kills fairly often.

Moving back to the north country, big thanks to CWT for a great 4 years!
CouesWhitetail replied to yotebuster's topic in The Campfire
Wow!! You really have had some quality hunts while you were here! Congratulations on all those successes! You know you can continue sharing your hunting adventures with us while you are up in North Dakota. Although our prime focus here is AZ hunting, we love to see pics and hear stories from all over the country. So I hope you will grace us with your posts even after you move back. Have a great career and I am so glad you made the most of the forum while you were here! -

Wow, what a sad pattern of abuse in that article you posted the link to. I hope your case helps to bring an end to this kind of unnecessary work. I am so sorry for what Isaac went through.

Jason Lewis Bronze Coues Shed
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Jason (aka Foundryman) has been toying with the idea of making some sort of small bronze that most people could afford. One idea that he came up with was a bronze of just a shed antler. Well, at the ADA banquet he gave me one and I love it! It's just awesome. I think this is a great idea and you guys will want one! Especially those of you that love shed hunting. This bronze shed is a perfect size, I think. It can be functional too as something that holds business cards or acts as a paperweight. Or it can just be set somewhere to look nice. This shed is also just nice to hold, it just feels really nice due to it's weight and shape. Everyone I showed it to at the ADA banquet wanted one! I don't think Jason has settled on a price, but of course I told him I would sell them here on the site for him! So you guys might just get a chance to own one of these. They are just a really fun peice of art. Here are some photos of one: -
I recommend carrying Counter Assault bear spray. To me it's better than a handgun because it sprays in a wide shotgun pattern so your aim doesn't have to be perfect and it ruins their eyes and lungs so they stop and run away. The other reason I like it better is that for the most part you dont' really want to kill the bear, you just don't want it charging you and making contact. For instance, say there is a mother and her cubs and the mother charges you. If you shoot her she will likely die and so will her cubs. But if you bear spray her, she will leave and still survive to raise her cubs. It's a non-lethal way of handling the problem. Here is a video of an AZ highways photographer using the can of bear spray I gave her just in case she had a close encounter while trying to photograph some bears. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/video_clips/bear_spray_clip.wmv

Jeff, great meeting you up there and I realize now that I should have taken a photo of your display of antler crafts! If you have any pics, please share them. I know people loved your antler art! And yes, Lorenzo is an awesome artist!! I loved his work. He had that awesome coues being chased by a lion. He wants to do a Coues tshirt for us, so I am looking forward to that. I posted PHOTOS from the event in the following thread: http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32867
