Video Edit Programs...
CouesWhitetail replied to 'Ike''s topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Pinnacle Studio is really easy to use, and as has been mentioned Adobe Premier Elements is good. If you have windows movie maker on your computer, that program is surprisingly good and easy to use. -
Online draw system fails AGAIN!
CouesWhitetail replied to Gr8 White Jr's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I applied today with no problems whatsoever. Thanks AGFD for an efficient system that, for the most part, holds up to the amount of traffic thrown at it! -
Is Peg still going to want you both to come to the CW Marshall Lake campout???? I hope so!!

Awesome! I love it, thanks for posting!

LOL!!! That's awesome!

WOW TJ!! You are unbelieveable! I like all the suggestions made so far on making yourself some kind of reminder. Wow, you are totally in the doghouse and might never get out. Maybe Peg just needs to give up on the idea of you remembering and just start dropping hints for a week before the anniversary....."like hey honey, where would you like to go out for our anniversary?" or "should we have your parents over to celebrate our anniversary next week?" Apparently she needs to be proactive and make up for your faulty memory......

Photos from 2nd Annual AZ AntlerFest!! AMAZING collection!
CouesWhitetail posted a topic in Shed Hunting
Well, what a weekend it was! I spent Fri-Sunday up at the Arizona AntlerFest and WOW!! I have seen that collection before, but there are always new additions and it's impossible to take it all in! It's just the most amazing collection of antler I have ever seen!! Over 12,000 pounds of antler including over 50 coues bucks over 115 and over 50 elk that score 380 or better. Thank you to Alan and Shelly Ellsworth for opening their home for this great event! They are great hosts and what a privilege to be able to view this collection. As if Alan's collection wasn't enough, Jim Reynolds also brought many of his best bucks and great coues sheds. UNBELIEVEABLE! His collection is mind-numbingly awesome. Most people would think that the coues sheds that he offered for sale are awesome, but the ones he keeps are just world-class! Thanks to Jim and Susan for taking the time bring all those great antlers up to the event! I never get tired of seeing those coues. The combination of Alan and Jim's collection means this was by far the world's greatest collection of Coues bucks ever assembled!!! I felt blessed to be there! Anyway, words don't do this event much justice so I will just start posting some pics. I met lots of CW.com members up there, so if you took any pics while there, feel free to add them into this thread...... Most, but not all, of Alan's collection comes from elk and coues sheds and racks he has bought from the White Mtn Apache Reservation. 442" elk: Taxidermist Dan Lee (of Artist Touch Taxidermy) holding a giant coues owned by Alan that Dan colored and will be mounting for Alan. WOW!! Dan was up there to promote the amazing fake rocks with lichens that he makes which can be used to display sheds and racks! I think the rocks are an awesome idea and they look great! I came home with a few small ones to display my sheds from my puzzlerock buck. (sorry Dan I didn't get a pic of your rocks while I was there...doh!) One of my favorite things about collections like this is the series of sheds they have from the same buck or bull. I just love watching how the racks change over time....very interesting to me! Alan already owned several sheds from this bull, but a guy brought in a shed he found that was from this bull. He found it a long time ago and never expected to see anymore from this bull and was thrilled to see it at Alan's! The shed he found is the brown one on the right and the others are Alan's. The bases on this bull are amazing! Love this nontyp! some great coues sets: Jim Reynolds was selling some great coues sets too: and some of Jim's bucks: And this GIANT set is from a game farm in Canada and I believe Josh scored it at 430 without a spread!! view from above in the barn: Love this tree made from muley and coues sheds! bucket full of muley sheds! Saw several CW.com stickers up there, but here is a new one! Thanks Alan! Hope it makes you smile- 16 replies

NEW ADAPTER BY JIM WHITE
CouesWhitetail replied to JIM WHITE's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Here are some pics: The adapter allows you to attach things like a range finder, spotting scope or video camera to your binos so that you can quickly have the same field of view for them and your binos. Pretty neat gadget! They will be for sale on CW.com soon and the cost is $65 for the one with the slik ball head with no quick shoe system and $69 for a ball head with a quick shoe system. If you already have a ball head like these, you can also just get the adatper alone and save some money that way. -

Bear Attack E. of Payson
CouesWhitetail replied to Critter's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Our dogs actually treed a bear that was coming into our camp the other night. We weren't in a regular campground, but near a bear trail. The dogs were safe inside the jeep, but started barking and we heard a bunch of footsteps in the leaves and then this weird hissing sound. Eventually the bear made the standard popping/huffing noises we have heard many times. I grabbed the bear spray and my husband yelled at the bear to get out of there. And eventually it did. Seemed like it came down the tree and then went up another hissing and popping. I don't know if the bear had any evil intentions or was just walking through. It actually sounds like a sow with cubs based on the noises I heard in the leaves. Be careful out there! There isn't a lot of food out there for the bears now. One of my workers had a large bear circle his tent one evening before he got back to camp. Luckily the bear didn't tear up the tent and his dog barked aggressively enough when he got to camp to make the bear move on. -
Congratulations!

Happy belated Birthday! Glad you got to spend it outdoors!

Most taxidermists don't cut off the antlers from the skull like that. You might want to alert the local AGFD game warden about the dump site.

Thanks for sharing so much about the man. Wow, what a loss. That kind of pain has caused many people to commit suicide (it took one of our own CW.com members in fact). Like Flatlander said, at least he was able to go out on his own terms. Suicide is always so hard for those left behind. I think if the people that committed suicide new the real amount of pain caused by their actions, they wouldn't do it. But it is impossible to think clearly when in constant pain. At least he had a good life and it sounds like he made a difference to many people. Peace be with him and all his loved ones.
