Wow, sorry to hear you lost that bull, but as has been said, the elk are tough and based on where you say you hit him, I bet he survives. Thank you for being diligent on searching for your bull. And I wish more people thought the same way as you about wounding animals and just moving on. Congratulations to your husband on his "mule deer"!

very nice!!

very nice....love the strutting turkeys too. that elk looks pretty skinny though....maybe it's just the angle of the shot

Part of the reason people are saying it's a gray area or that it's illegal in unit 33, has to do with this USFS rule regarding the coronado national forest. I believe this one came about because of the bear mauling on mt lemmon years ago. I haven't seen the map of the area that this rule applies to. if someone has it, post it up. Maybe it only applies to Mt Lemmon? Please keep in mind that although AGFD doesn't currently make baiting illegal (except for bears), this rule sure seems to for USFS land on the Coronado (not sure of the boundary this rule applies to).

+1 Give Eric a call, he can help you out.

looks fairly wide too, congratulations!

Colby Shepherd (of sponsor Gila Outdoor) wanted to share his success with you..... This is a velvet mulie he took with his muzzleloader in Nevada the other day. Scored 226 1/8. WOW! Congratulations Colby!
-
just wanted to let you all know that I made a mistake and Colby took this buck with his muzzleloader, not bow. He started out hunting with his bow, but then ended up taking this buck with a muzzleloader....sorry for the mistake....But still congratulations to Colby!

Very nice! Glad you were able to get one and get to help and be helped by some hunters!
