Just ask him for permission.....that's always the better course....that way I don't end up having to pull the pics later when someone complains.

AES Wild in the City event for Girl Scouts Jan. 26, 2013
CouesWhitetail replied to rthrbhntng's topic in Conservation Group Events
Awesome! I will spread the word to some girl scouts I know. -
here is what carlos wrote for his essay to win: Hunting is as real as it gets. Life and death; pain and suffering. Joy, sorrows, success and failures. When I’m hunting I feel closer to God. Engulfed in His glorious creation and creatures. The reenactment of what our ancestors have done for years, this is the very core of what drives mankind to hunt. The smell of freshly cut firewood and smoke coming from the campfire. And the sweet smell of gunpowder in the morning. The sound and feel of an arrow leaving its rest. The morning dew dripping off the leaves of the trees. The birds singing and the breeze thru the trees on your face. Time to think, time to clear my mind. The sunrises and the sunsets. The quiet…..the peace …..and quiet. No emails, text messages or outside world. Walking back to camp and hearing my children's laughter. The camaraderie and fellowship spent around the campfire and in the middle of nowhere. The bonding between friends that makes you brothers, actually it makes you family! A family that hunts together, stays together. Family, friends and the memories that we make. Hunting is Heaven on earth. Hunting isn’t just about the harvest, it's about instilling values, morals and ethics in our youth. Conservation, Preservation, Education; all which will ensure hunting’s future. More importantly, it will ensure our youths' future. Teaching them about life, death and the respect of both. What we teach our youth is what we are leaving for our future. We lay the groundwork for our legacy, respecting and being stewards of the land and the prey we hunt. Hunting is Heaven on earth.

I think you are in second place now.....but we have a LONG way to go to overtake first place. Everyone, Carlos needs like 500 votes to get over the top. Please just take a minute and like and share his page. It will mean a lot to him and it only takes a few seconds of your time. I got to meet Carlos and his daughter down at the unit 36 youth camp and they seem like a very nice family. Lets see if we can make this happen for hiim!

well, facebook only allows you to like a page one time, so how do we vote over and over? Just by adding comments? I thought you only had a few hours for voting since your post said "for the next 12 hours"....
-
to make it easier for you, I believe this link will take you to his page for voting: http://www.facebook.com/messages/1840531815#!/photo.php?fbid=480760475300776&set=a.480760091967481.106066.103033969740097&type=1&theater

Hey Elkhunter, fyi, I had a snake specialist from AGFD look at your pics and he confirmed that it is a Gopher Snake. In fact, he said it was born in late summer of this year. He says the size it what tells him it was a young one...they are 11-12 inches at birth.

Need help identifying this skull
CouesWhitetail replied to singleshot's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
It's still a fun find! I once found an old goat skull inside a mine and it had this neat crystalization all over it. -
Wow! Great buck and I really enjoyed your fast-paced story. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your hunt with us!

Need help identifying this skull
CouesWhitetail replied to singleshot's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
my guess would be domestic goat....horns seem too close together for antelope. Not sure why you think that's not the brain case, but it sure looks like a normal location for the brain case to me. You are missing the front half of the skull. what you posted as view from the back, would be view from front.... -
awesome!!
