Squirrel Hunting Mt Lemmon
CouesWhitetail replied to SNEEKEE1's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You could try calling the USFS office in Tucson and see if they have some recommendations. It seems to me mt lemmon is a tough place to hunt due to all the trails and hikers and cabins up there. But I know the USFS biologist Josh Taiz had wanted to reduce the Abert's squirrel population up there in the hopes that it would help the grey squirrel population increase. -
Wow, that's some serious shooting....what setup were you using? And you are right, that's a great background on the 2nd buck pic!

The Humbling Buck - Part 2
CouesWhitetail replied to GreeneMachine's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Awesome!! I enjoyed both your stories! I did a quick bivy overnight during my hunt this year and use a bivy sack when I know the weather will be stable. I have a small two person backpack tent for rougher weather. -

That's cool!! did you stalk him? -
I checked and mine is the 1HP.....it's probably more power than I need, but I love using it. It's pretty heavy but it does great work. You could probably get away with a smaller one.
