CouesWhitetail replied to Coues Sniper's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Awesome!! I have been looking forward to the story and now it even comes with video, excellent! Congratulations on a great buck! Was that a high shoulder shot? Love when they drop and never move again.... -
Congratulations! Very nice way to mount it! The turkey in the series of pics in my signature is my 2011 San Carlos turkey fun hunt!

good question, hopefully someone has an answer for you. -
hehehe, that's funny!

I didn't, but I got through it often enough to know what's in there. There are baskets in there to help organize and much of the space is taken up with a turkey tail and wings and frozen water bottles that are always ready to go for cooler when camping. If I ever find something that's freezer burned, then I cook it up for the dogs. Haven't had much problem with that though.

Digiscoping Video
CouesWhitetail replied to gotcoues's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Convert the mp4 file to a format your editing program likes.... here is one that will convert to avi that should be recognizeable by your program. http://sourceforge.net/projects/mp4cam2avi/files/ I am sure there are others. Or you can check if there is a new version of your program that will now read the mp4 files. -
LOL, good post!

Another bonus to big antlered animals is they generally have bigger bodies and fill your freezer faster! I learned that on my very first coues hunt! I took a pic of my freezer the other day after putting my javelina sausage and venison bratwurst and other items in it.....it's pretty full right now! Certainly not all of it is game meat, but the most highly prized meat is!

125" Coues Buck mounted for forum member "azbow"!
CouesWhitetail replied to WildHeritageTaxidermy's topic in Wild Heritage Taxidermy
Great pose to show of the antlers! -
I agree whole-heartedly! I have never had bad javelina meat and can't understand how so many people do. My guess is they handle the hide and then the meat and get the gland smell on the meat, but as long as you don't do that, then the meat is excellent! Much like lean pork. I have made mine into italian sausage and chorizo....Love it!

archery hunting in McDowell Sonoroan Preserve
CouesWhitetail replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Voted....thanks for the heads-up John and the link Tony. I had a difficult time accessing the poll since it said I had to enable cookies to view anything on azcentral.com. Changed a bunch of settings and took forever to make it work, but finally got to it by not clicking the link and going to azcentral.com directly. Then I used search box on the azcentral.com website to search for McDowell and it pulled up the article....not sure why it was so difficult for me, but I am posting this in case anyone else is having trouble.... -
A few ATL pics of sheds and heads that I have found. found while hiking in the rain at night (same buck as above but one year later, but found again) The next two pics I may have moved before snapping the pics, can't quite remember. a muley rack that has eroded over time And this may not be an ATL pic, but it's "as I saw it" at 3 am when Julie brought it into the tent and it's one of my favorite pics

That's why I only use animals that I (or another official measurer) have officially scored for contests here. If it's not officially scored, then it's harder for someone learn how to judge an animal.
-
It doesn't really bother me.....not sure why it bothers anyone. Unless someone says it's an official score, I figure it's not accurate and it's just a guess. Appreciating the animals is what counts to me. Whether they score well or not and whether the person is accurate or not doesn't really matter. It's just a way to give other people a rough idea of the caliber of buck/bull.

I almost didn't notice the CWT sticker on the shelf....haven't found the right spot for it yet? and is that a USB cable that you have hung the cats from? Like the ingenuity! and look at those sheds on your fridge....wow, you have a lot going on in that photo that I didn't notice the first time! -
