You can call AGFD and get the details on the regulation, but basically if it's not fresh, they aren't interested in it. This one was definitely not fresh. I believe the reason they want fresh kills reported is to see if they can determine cause of death in case the animal was poached. That piece of hide was mummified leather. It can last a very long time that way.

We heard none but we must not have been in a good area for turkeys because we didn't see any sign either. Oh wait, actually, that's not true there were several gobblers in ramsey canyon and a few were gobbling. I didn't see them, but some friends did.

Awesome!! I met a guy this past week that says he loves seeing all the great elk sheds people are finding....I am sure he will love this post!

We always try and praise her big time when she finds any kind of bone and she gets really proud and wiggly I think it helps her want to come show me what she finds! She has found a bunch of nice antlers and skulls in her time. She is amazing. Almost anywhere we go she can find a bone of some kind even if it's just an old deer pelvis or pork bone someone left at a campsite.
